Snow, tearful goodbyes and a card

Take a look at today's Allium shot:

Poor baby had just dropped about a pound (I'm exaggerating of course) of snow off it's poor little head and was starting to stand up straight again. We didn't get much and I think everything will survive just fine. I got some shots of the tulips too and they are in the slideshow above.

Well, as of about 10 a.m. DH is on the road and headed for New England and our dear Belmira. He has started a web page AND a blog and will be chronicling his journey and experiences over the next few months as he gets her ready and into the water. I vowed I wouldn't get all teary eyed and make it harder for him to leave, but of course I couldn't do it. I cried and apologized for crying and then cried some more. I think that the first few telephone calls are going to involve me crying too if the first call was any indication. He called me when he got to Kansas and promised to call again when he stops for the night. Can't seem to help it - I've been missing him for several weeks already and he just left this morning. It's going to be fine, I'm going to be fine, yes I am, yes I am! I know that it will get easier the more time that passes so I'm just trying to get from today to tomorrow and then the next day and hopefully it will be all right by then.

Sorry, didn't mean to go on and on. Here's a card I made this past weekend. Our oldest son is getting married in Hawaii to his sweetheart of 10 years. I didn't end up giving them this one, but I like it and will use it for another special occasion. I embossed the HA flower in clear and then sponged distress inks. I sprayed the whole thing with some of SU's fun new Smooch Spritz so it's all glimmery and stamped the sentiment on top of it all.

Gotta get busy working on tomorrow's swap and make and take and I'll have some pix of those for you tomorrow.

Thanks for visiting!

Chris,
Being apart from the ones we love is the pits. You will be in my thoughts and heart often over the next while.
The card is lovely and your poor allium is weathering the storm and is strong just like you.

Oh my Chris snow at this time of the year! Yuck!! How long is DH going to be gone for? Sorry I seem to have come in half way through so I am not sure why DH is going away for some months, but I wish you well anyway, there are emails and phone calls. Jill x

Congrats on the new DT, well deserved! I can't believe you have snow. Boo!
I LOVE the card, fab stamp there and lovely approriate Hawaii colours, maybe someone else will get married there.
I think you asked me about a stamp I used. It's one of my much loved Hero Arts numbers from the Artistic drawings range. It's called Garden Flowers sketch (H2817). Hugs
