Monday Freebie - April 29, 2013

Here's a freebie for you this bright, spring Monday morning!  I am starting to experiment with drawing using my Bamboo tablet.  This digi is a combination of things, including some freehand drawing.  Yikes!

Spring (should I say summer - 80 degrees today) has arrived at last.  DH  set up the swamp cooler for the season and came in to town to take me to lunch.  He was gone about 5 hours and when he came home he discovered that the d*&am thing had sprung a leak.  Needless to say, there was a visit by the disaster recovery folks and the house is now full of fans from the basement to the 2nd floor.  Luckily it was just one bedroom, the dining room below the bedroom and my pottery studio in the basement.  Carpet has been torn out, holes cut in the drywall, wet insulation removed from the attic (nasty job that was - I'm still itchy).  The light fixture in the dining room had become quite the water fountain by the time he got home and continued to gush well into the night.  The hardwood floors have taken a beating, but we think that given time they will be fine and maybe just need a bit of refinishing.  The craft cave only suffered a bit of damage to the floor in the doorway.  Nothing else got damaged in here.  The disaster recovery folks will be back tomorrow along with the insurance adjuster.  DH will outline his recovery plan (it's bound to be quite different from the recovery guys who told us on Thursday that they thought we would have to take out ceilings, walls and floors in both rooms).  DH doesn't agree and with his extensive facilities management experience, I tend to go along with what he thinks.  We'll see.

Needless to say, the trip east to the boat for him has been postponed slightly.  We will still be heading to PA for my father's memorial service on Thursday, but we'll both be coming back here instead of just me.  Can't say I'm sad that he'll be around a little longer, but I sure do wish it was for a different reason!  The house is a mess right now and crafting has taken a bit of a back seat for a little while.

Enjoy the digi and if you use it, please let me know so I can come visit.

Thanks for visiting!

My condolences to you on the loss of your father. It's a hard thing to do in life.

Thanks for the great pictures of the snow. We lived in CO for 8 years and I don't miss the snow now that we are in TX. I do miss the summers and falls from CO!

Lovely flower. Thanks for sharing!
