Upcoming Events (besides my retirement that is)

Can you tell I'm excited about retiring?  11 more work days - but who's counting right?  Anyway, there are three fun events coming up that I am involved in.  If you live in Colorado and want to spend a few creative hours with some really great people, check these out:

March 20, 2014 - 12 Months of Christmas

Here is this month's project:

April 5, 2014 - Sassy Chic presents Anything BUT a Card!

April 12, 2014 - Stamp Camp North is having a Paper Picnic!

If you want more information on any of these fun activities, just leave me a comment or shoot me an email (address in the sidebar).

My youngest grandson has his first tap dance recital on Thursday night and I'll be posting some pictures of that fun evening later today or tomorrow.

Stamp Camp North - March 8, 2014

Here's my card for this weekend's Stamp Camp North:

If you are interested and want more information about this camp:

If you still have any questions, please feel free to email me (address in the sidebar) and I will answer any questions you might have.

I am processing photos from last weekend's Sassy Chic Stamp Camp.  The theme was "masculine cards" and I don't think the campers were disappointed in the projects we had to offer.  Lots of brave folks came out in the snow and cold to stamp with us and we had a wonderful time.  Hope to have some pix of these great projects to share with you tomorrow.

Monday Freebie - March 3, 2014

WOW has the last month or so been busy.  Good busy, but crazy busy.  Here's a freebie for you from a super talented photographer and blogger named Kerri Farley.  Her blog is A Little Piece of Me and she takes some absolutely gorgeous pictures.  I encourage you to pay her a visit and check it out.  She kindly gave me permission to quote her here:

Last weekend was a super fun Sassy Chic Stamp Camp.  I'll try to get some pictures taken of the fun "guy" cards that we all made.  This weekend is Stamp Camp North at the Westminster Elk Lodge in Westminster, CO.  Here's the info on that:

Also, this month's 12 Months of Christmas card class is coming up on March 20.  Here's the details on that:

Lots of fun things to do if you live in the Denver/Boulder/Longmont area of Colorado.  If you want any more info on these activities, just shoot me an email (address in the sidebar).

I am in countdown mode (19 more work days) till retirement, so things are pretty crazy at work too as I try to get things in order for my replacement.  It's hard when you've been in a job for over 20 years to even begin, but I'll manage!

I have not dropped off the face of the earth ... honest!

Things have been so busy, so crazy - let me fill you in...

First - I will officially be RETIRED on March 31!  Hard to imagine, but true.  I have been with the Native American Rights Fund as their systems administrator and webmaster for the last 20+ years.  Time to get on with the rest of my life though!!!

DH and I spent several days in Florida escaping from the frigid cold and trying to sort out where we were headed.   We made the decision to retire and that's just what I did when we returned.  As you all know, DH turned 70 in January and we just decided that it was time we did some of the things we've been wanting to do and that meant no more full time job for me.  It's a bit scary, but I think it will work out just fine.

Coming up:

For all of you who have attended these two fun camps in the past - this will be no different - tons of fun and lots of creative sharing!  If you haven't tried these camps - do it now - you won't regret it.  Email me (link in the sidebar) if you need more information.

The next 12 Months of Christmas workshop will be on March 20 and is sure to be loads of fun too.  I'll have more details and even a sneak peek at our project coming soon.

I hope to be back to more regular blogging now that things are in the works.  This has been a long and difficult decision for me and I am really nervous, but totally excited, at the prospect.

Stay tuned for pix of some of the cards from the last few months!  I have pix, just have to process them.

Playing with some new toys...

I  have some pix of projects made using some of the fun new items in the Occasions Mini and Sale-a-Bration catalogs.  The first one is my swap card for Monday's Front Range Stampers meeting:

The next is just a "playing with new toys" project:

I'll have some more of these over the next few days as I am finally getting a chance to play with all these wonderful new papers, stamps and punches!

The Sassy Chic Stamp Camp on February 1 will have a Valentine theme:

I'll have my project for this camp to share with you in the next few days.  As is always the case at these camps, TONS of fun will be had by all as we share playing paper together.  If you live in the Denver/Boulder/Longmont area and would like more information on this fun activity, please feel free to leave me a comment or shoot me an email (address in the sidebar).

As always, thank you so much for sticking with me this past year.  Things have been up and down and yet you hang in there and I appreciate it.  I hope to spend the next week or so getting moved back into my office and setting some goals for myself in the New Year (retirement may actually be one of them)!

I'm hoping to offer an exciting new monthly class and am even thinking about offering it online too!  Watch for more details on that coming up soon.

Have a safe and wonderful New Year celebration and I'll see you in 2014!
