My BFF Sabrina works with a gal who delivers meals on wheels. I've gotten involved in making some holiday cards to put on the trays and this year I made a bunch of love note size (3x3) cards for Halloween. Here's a small sample of some of the cards.
This is one of the insides of the cards.
The graphics are from various sources - the circles are from Whimsie Doodles and the others are from pcCrafters. Some were pre-colored and some I colored on the computer myself. The bats (and there are some with spiders too) were cut from one of those metal dies by Cuttlebug. I had so much fun with these and I'm getting ready to start on some Thanksgiving, Christmas and birthday cards too! I hope these folks enjoy getting them as much as I enjoy making them!
I've got a couple of Halloween graphic/sentiments that I whipped up too and I will share those with you tomorrow. I hope you all enjoyed the fall sentiments and if you use them, please send me an email with a link to your card. I would LOVE to see them in action!

Some Halloween Love Notes

A couple of cards ....
I made this card last week for a couple of challenges and, of course, I have now totally forgotten what they were. There were two recipe challenges and one was a sketch challenge. I needed a jump start and I got it, but now I can't remember what it was. I like the card though!
The other was just me playing with some colors and embellishments. I needed a thank you card and this did the trick!
I still have tons more to show you - hopefully I'll get myself back on track with my posting! I have a Halloween sentiment set that I will post later this week too!

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #40
Well, it's time for a new challenge on the Kaboodle Doodle Challenge Blog and this time team member Audrey has designed a sketch for us to use. Our sponsor for this challenge is AI Factory and we all got a chance to use some of their fun images in our projects. Here's mine:
I fell in love with this little guy and just had to make a few more cards with him:
I am getting reports of folks getting big red error boxes when they try to access my blog. If you are experiencing this too can you let me know? Although I guess if you are experiencing it you won't get a chance to read this .... has anyone else had reports from readers about this happening to them? I've cleared my blog of any gadgets that might have caused problems, but I'm still hearing about the big red box. Help!

Sentimental Sunday time!
Slowly, but surely, I'm getting back in the groove. (I haven't forgot about the slide show - just haven't finished processing all the pix yet). I did get a chance to make a card for this week's challenge on the Sentimental Sundays blog - Weddings! Here's my card:
As always, Ann has a wonderful sentiment freebie up for grabs, but hurry over and get it because it will only be available for one week. While you are there check out all the wonderful creations by my fellow design team mates and see if you get inspired to make a wedding creation of your own to enter. Ann generously gives away four sentiment sets from the Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection AND a custom watermark/signature set from the Custom Designs at Whimsy Stamps.
Tomorrow there will be a new challenge on the Kaboodle Doodle Challenge Blog so be sure to stop over and check out all the great inspiration from the design team! It is our 40th challenge and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be working with this fantastic team!

Biggest Blog Candy I've Ever Seen!
I was blurfing this morning and Dustin Pike gave a link to this blog candy! You have to check it out, it's amazing and so is this talented gal (and her dog is pretty darn cute too).
I'll be back later with a slide show of our downline swaps. Am finally starting to feel human (as much as I ever do anyway) again and hopefully am getting myself back on track - creatively and otherwise. The house is still a mess but ...

Delightful Inpiration Challenge
Each week you can earn a new digi image by participating in the challenge at Delightful Inspiration. This week's image is this adorable kitty peeking out from behind a pumpkin. Well, it's a kitty, I couldn't very well pass this one up could I?
I'm feeling much better and was able to sit at my desk for a bit today and get this card made and a little bit of organization done. The advantage of working at home was that I could go lay down anytime I felt tired - and I took advantage of that. My voice is not quite back yet, but the coughing is much less severe so that should fix that. DH won't be home till next week so there's no one but the cats to talk to anyway!
I took pictures of the swaps from last week and will have a slide show for you over the weekend. There's some real gems in this group - as always!

Apologies
Sorry to have been so absent, but I've been seriously sidelined by a very nasty lung infection and have been totally out of commission. I spent some time in the ER yesterday and I think they got me back on track, but it will be a few days before I'm up and about and taking care of business. I have swaps to share, but not today and probably not tomorrow either. I'm trying to be smart and not push - I need to be well as the captain is due home next week! Thanks for your patience and understanding.

September Swap and Make & Take Project
Our monthly downline meeting is tomorrow night and it's going to be special. Our fearless leader is moving to Indiana and we are going to be saying goodbye to her. She will hopefully be coming back to visit OFTEN, but it still won't be the same without her smiling face at our monthly meetings. Thanks Roselyn for being such an inspiring leader and wonderful friend!
Here's my swap for tomorrow:
And here's my make & take project. I did several samples and hopefully the gals will enjoy making these. I will be posting a slide show of all of our swaps and fun activities on Friday so be sure to stop back and check it out! (This project is a case of a card by the marvelous Mary Fish that you can see here.)
I just love this stamp set (A Cute Christmas) and will be making many more fun cards with it to send out this year.
Fire Update: The fire is still burning and the smoke in Boulder is much worse today than yesterday. Winds are expected to pick up this afternoon and we'll have to see how that is going to affect things. There is also a fire in Wyoming now, so some of the air tankers are going to have to head north and help out up there.

Monday Night Stamping
Well, it was just what I needed. The gals came over last night and we had so much fun making cards. I got the boost I needed to finalize my swap and make and take for Thursday and they made some really wonderful cards. I was struggling to get back into the swing of things, the mojo was escaping me and it was very frustrating. The gals cured all that and then some! Here's some of the wonderful cards they made:
The photos are not the best - I still haven't built myself a light box, but you can easily see how very talented these ladies are! I can't thank them enough for coming over and helping me regain my perspective and focus. My heart may still be on board Belmira, but my head is finally residing in Colorado.
Fire update - the size of the fire doubled today with an estimated 7000+ acres burned and 90+ homes being lost (7 of those belonged to volunteer firemen). There is currently a state of emergency declared and we are all anxiously hoping the weather cooperates and allows those brave firefighters to get this thing under control.

Day 2 (warning - non-stamping related)
Yesterday morning (Monday) as I drove from Broomfield to Longmont I noticed smoke coming from the mountains behind Boulder. By the time I left Longmont (about 3 hours later) the air was filled with smoke and it looked like there were heavy clouds in the sky blocking the sun. These observations were made from about 15 miles or so away. As evening progressed the smell of smoke in the air in Broomfield became much more prounounced and when I awoke this morning I was finding it uncomfortable to breathe. One of the local television stations here has put up some pictures sent in by viewers of what is going on and I've grabbed a few to show you here. If you want to see more click here. The awesome power of nature is humbling. Thousands of people have been evacuated and they are saying that dozens of homes have been destroyed. There are 7 air tankers dropping retardent on the fire and the fire officials still say there is no way to estimate when they will get it under control. The winds are set to pick up again this afternoon which could make matters worse. Here's some of the pictures:
I'll be back a bit later today to share some pix from a wonderful evening stamping with friends last night. Boy did those gals make some fantastic cards!

I did not drown!
No - I did not drown, I was not captured by pirates, I have just had a bit of a hard time getting back into the swing of things! The old mojo just isn't coming back as quickly as I want it to. But ... that said, it is time for a new challenge on the Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog. This week is an inspiration challenge and here's the inspiration piece:
Our sponsor this week is Digital Delights and you could win a $10 voucher for their store just by playing along in our challenge. Cmon' you know you want to! The dt gals have whipped up some really great cards too, so hop on over and take a look.
This week is going to be a busy one - downline meeting on Thursday and I am scrambling to put together my swaps and a make and take. Our fearless leader is moving to another state and so it will be a bittersweet meeting. Luckily, she will still be an active member of our group and hopefully we'll get to see her every couple of months.
Thanks for visiting!
