It has begun ...
It was inevitable:
The heavy wet white stuff fell from the sky and tore up trees and power lines, but luckily did not affect our roads too much. We managed to cover up most of our beautiful flowers, and we shall see tomorrow afternoon how well they fared. Overnights will still be quite cold, but daytime temps should rise to the 50's and 60's by the end of the week. DH got the garage cleaned out enough that the car had a dry place to spend the night last night, but the RV and the van had to weather the wet, heavy stuff along with falling branches.. Lots and lots of branches down throughout our neighborhood and sporadic power outages, but nothing that can't be cleaned up. Life in the Rocky Mountains!

And now they are 11!
How is this possible? Here's a video that I have shared before of their beginnings:
And now they are 11 years old!!! I have shared pictures of these precious children many times in the past - here, and here, and here. There are more but regrettably not any current. I hope to remedy that soon! They are blossoming and growing and becoming more wonderful with each passing year. This grandma is so very, very proud of these two. They have come a very long way and it has not always been easy, but they hang in there and continue to grow into strong and independent individuals! Happy, Happy, Happy 11th birthday to Isabella and Julian!

It's His Birthday Today!!!
Today is my "baby's" 41st birthday! Here we are in our much younger days:
We are hip deep in holiday spirit, but way behind in our actual preparation. Nothing new there and we will somehow get it all done. I hope to be back here later in the week with some new class announcements and maybe some card shares from December's stamp camps.
Today the Denver Broncos play the New England Patriots - my favorite team will be sure to win!

Hello, it's me!
I'm dating myself with that title I suppose, but ....
Things have been crazy here, both at home generally and in the craft cave too. We have been watching grandchildren since school let out last month, and while it is wonderful to have this time with them it is also nearly impossible to do a whole lot else!
Here's another reason:
Our home away from home #3! We are hoping to take this "land sailing" to New England in August. We will also be able to use it going back and forth to the boat each year and alleviating the need for hotel rooms! Needless to say, the grandchildren are thrilled and now want us to take them all camping (not so sure 5 kids and 2 adults will fit comfortably but we shall see!) We hope to do just that at least once before we hit the road in August though.
I've played with a challenge recently too, but decided to put those images in a separate post later today so be sure to check back!

Cousins Convention!
We had a chance to take all the cousins out to dinner last night at Cinzetti's. A grand time was had by all and no one went home hungry!
I will have more details and some pictures of the projects for next month's Coasting Towards Christmas class at the Longmont Senior Center so watch for that post later today.
Also - it is not too late to register for this weekend's Stamp Camp North - it promises to be a fun filled, creative day so try to join us:

My favorite models
Here are some pix of my darling grandchildren modeling their scarves:
We are headed out for Georgia/Florida to research marinas and visit my mom for her birthday on the 10th. My mom has not had all 5 of her children with her at once in nearly 40 years so it should be a good time. Hope to have some pix of our journey coming up in the next few weeks.

This week's Freebie is finally here!
I am not even going to apologize - I'm just swamped and that's all there is to it. I'm getting things done and posted and that's all I can worry about right now. This week's sentiment says it all, here it is:
This week's freebie comes from a blog post title on A Rural Journal. This is a blog that I have been a huge fan of for years. Nancy Claeys is both a talented writer and fantastic photographer. If you have time it would be worth your while to visit her blog and see for yourself. She kindly gave me permission to quote her for this wonderful sentiment! Thanks Nancy!
Today is the 5th birthday of this handsome little devil:
Here he is 5 years ago:
And here is in one of my favorite pix of him:
As a dutiful grandma I have tons more, but I won't bore you with them now. If you click on the link to family posts in the sidebar you can see a few more of this precious little darling. I'm sure there are many days when his parents would NOT agree with that name though!
Thanks for visiting!
