Sassy Chic Stamp Camp - January 2022

The new year is nearly upon us and I am trying to be a bit more responsible about posting, we shall see ...

The Sassy Chic Stamp Camp gals are planning a very fun camp for January. Here is my card:
This card uses some new DSP from the upcoming SAB catalog called Daffodil Afternoon. I love this paper pack and you can get it for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration (January 4 through February 28, 2022). If you don't already have a catalog, contact your local demonstrator and get one along with the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. Both have some excellent stamp sets, papers and tools to enhance your card making experience.

Here is the information about the camp:
If you have any questions or need directions to the camp, please don't hesitate to let me know via email (cpereira at mudmaven dot com) or leave a comment on this page. This is a very fun camp with very fun campers so do get in on the fun!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Merry Christmas!

I want to wish all my friends that celebrate it a very Merry Christmas and to everyone celebrating a different holiday - Happiest of Holidays to you.

This blog will be 14 years old next week. It has seen me through so much - new grandchildren, DH retiring, ME retiring, the sale of one boat and the purchase of another, a long trip sailing to Florida from MA, another long trip waiting and watching while DH solo sailed the boat from Florida to MA. I have lost many family members and friends as well.

We are weathering the pandemic and will celebrate tomorrow with family. I hope that you and yours are happy and healthy.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

I hope all who are celebrating Thanksgiving have a wonderful day. Last year was a no go, but this year we are all vaccinated so we are going to give it a try. Hope you all enjoy your day!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween to all my friends who celebrate it. We are hoping for some ghoulish visitors tonight and will be pandemic ready with pre-packaged candy socially distanced using a camera to talk to our visitors. It's kind of cold out there today and they are saying there's a chance of snow flurries - perfect Colorado Halloween weather!

I have an inordinate amount of catching up to do here and will get to it as I can. Suffice it to say I have kept myself really busy with both live and virtual camps as well as some in person classes. DH is home now and so things will slowly start getting back to normal (whatever that is). See you soon!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

It's time for the Rose Hill Grange cards/kits for July 2021. Here's my card:
This card uses a really fun stamp from Technique Junkies and is colored with various Stampin' Blend alcohol markers and cut out using a die from the Scalloped Contours die set. Card base is Soft Suede with an embossed layer of Crumb Cake that has been embossed with the Bark 3d embossing folder. I wrapped some twine around the stamped layer and called it done.

Here are the details for getting signed up for this fun camp:

Sassy Chic - Christmas in July!

This month is the annual Sassy Chic Christmas in July camp. Here is my card:
Sometimes it's hard to get in the Christmas spirit with it being so very hot outside, but after 2020 I am totally in the mood! This card uses the Snowman Season stamp set and one of the dies from the set called Scalloped Contour. The snowman is colored using our Stampin' Blends alcohol markers. I had forgotten how fun it is to color with these markers!

We are hoping to get back to live stamp camp next month, so watch for that announcement and details of this fun activity.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Happy 4th!

Please celebrate safely and remember that pets (and some people too) are afraid of fireworks!

DH and grandson are safely ensconced on the boat and in the water! DH had hoped to be off the dock and down the river by now, but ... best laid plans and all. Hoping they have a safe and fun filled journey!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Rose Hill Grange stamp cards/kits - June 2021

We are continuing to offer pre-made cards or kits to our crafters from the Rose Hill Grange stamp camp. This camp will continue to be virtual for the foreseeable future and we have now opened it up as a crafting camp using supplies from all over the crafting world. It's a really fun activity for everyone! Here is my card for this month's camp:
I have long been a fan of Bugaboo digital stamps. This guy is named Gus and I just love him. The background is from Technique Junkies May release and is called Crosshatch Scratches.  The sentiments and inside are computer generated. The card base and background pieces use Misty Moonlight from SU.

Here is the information for this month's camp:

Stamp Camp North - June 2021

Our theme this month is Guys and Dolls - masculine and feminine cards! Here is my project for this month:
Mine will be one in the masculine category and I chose to use some retired plaids and a die cut from a retired set. The Crumb Cake background is embossed using the Painted Texture embossing folder. The card base is Cherry Cobbler and the backing for the dsp strips is Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce. The gears were cut out of Gold Foil. The sentiment and card inside are computer generated.

Here's the information for this camp:

We will be virtual once again for this month's Sassy Chic stamp camp. We are hoping to be back doing live, in person camps in August - time will tell.  Here is the flyer for this month's fun camp:
This month's projects will all feature fun folds! Here is my project for this month:
I used one of the new stamp sets in the Annual Catalog called Flowers of Friendship and the accompanying punch and also some of the new dsp from the Hand-Penned pack. Sure hope the gals like it!

Playing with Vellum + Blends + Alcohol - Part II

I continue to have a great time playing with my SU Blends on Vellum and adding some alcohol. This is such a fun technique! Here are some cards awaiting sentiments that I made using this technique:

I used a die from a new die set called Artistic from Stampin' Up! cut out of gold foil paper and mounted on the pieces of vellum I created. Such great fun it was to create these. The Blends match up perfectly with the colored card stock from Stampin' Up! Here I have used (top to bottom): Polished Pink with Fresh Freesia; Bumblebee with Granny Apple Green; and Gorgeous Grape and Fresh Freesia. I am really loving the new in-colors and I really didn't think I would - happens every year! I will add sentiments and insides as I need them. Good to have a stash!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Demo Swap - New SU Annual Catalog

My good friend the talented Cathy Hansen organizes a demonstrator swap each time a new catalog comes out from Stampin' Up! These are always great fun and you end up with gorgeous samples of new stamps, dies, papers, etc. that premier in the new catalog. Here is my swap for this year's new Annual Catalog:
This card uses some of the new stamps from Hand-Penned Petals and Encircled in Friendship, a new dsp called Hand-Penned, a new die from the Encircled in Beauty die set and one of the new in-colors - Pale Papaya. I also used the new in-color blends Pale Papaya dark and light and the Pale Papaya marker. I also used Mint Macaron card stock and the Mint Macaron dark and light blends and marker. It also uses the new Genial Gems. All of it is created using a card blank in Thick Basic White.

I am having a lot of fun creating with items from the new Annual Catalog. I'll have some more samples to show you in the coming days so be sure to come back and visit.

DH is preparing to head east for his summer sailing session. This year he hopes to take one of our grandsons with him. Our grandson will need to come back a bit early in order to start school, but DH should be home sometime in September.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Time to Play Catch-Up!

I have been sorely negligent in posting on this blog and I have to play a little catch-up here. The first card is my entry for May's Sassy Chic:
The next card was my entry for May's Stamp Camp North (the top one is the outside and the bottom one is the inside - it was Pop Up month at camp):

This card is the one I am doing for May's Rose Hill Grange:
I have had a blast creating these cards and it would appear from our participation levels that the campers are enjoying them too! Hopefully, I can get back on track soon and get back to posting regularly. We shall see.  DH is headed east to spend the summer on the boat, but I am staying home this time. I just don't feel mobile enough to be a good First Mate and hopefully one of the grandchildren will get to discover the joys of the sea.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Rose Hill Grange Stamp Camp - April 2021

Here is my card for this month's Rose Hill Grange stamp camp:
I love the Oh So Ombre paper from the Sale a Bration catalog. The sentiment is from a set from Echo Park and the foilage is one of this month's new stamps from Technique Junkies. I added some glitter gems to add a bit of bling. The inside has a flower pot and butterfly from the same Echo Park set and lots of room for writing some encouraging words and we all need those these days! The card base is Granny Apple Green and the dsp is layered on a Basic Black layer.

Time is running out to get signed up for this camp and here's the details:
We always have so many fun and beautiful cards from this camp and I encourage you to give it a try!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!
