Welcome to the New Mudmaven Designs Blog!

Well, it's done (sort of).  I still need to work out the kinks and get things smoothed out, but what do you think?  I have to figure out how to get rid of the boxes around all the graphics.  I knew how to do that at one time and it wasn't there on the test blog, but ....

Thanks for being patient with me through this process.  I've learned a lot and am looking forward to learning a lot more too!  I'll be back later today with some BLOG CANDY to celebrate my blogoversary so be sure to stop back.

Thanks for visiting!

Coming Soon!

Tomorrow is my blogoversary!  I've been here sharing with all of you since Saturday, December 29, 2007.  Here it is Saturday, December 29, 1012!.  I can't believe that it has been 5 years.  Thanks so much to all of you for hanging in there with me all this time!

I'm going to have some candy to post tomorrow and I am also launching a new blog design (you can see a bit of a preview in my new signature below).  It might get a little rocky for a little while as I work out all the kinks, so please be patient with me.  I've been taking a wonderful Blogger Design E-course from  Desirae R of Sommerfugl Design.  I hope I've learned enough to make this transition relatively smooth, but we'll see how it goes.

Holiday Digital Freebie For My French Speaking Friends

My maiden (birth) name is Christine Doucette and my father's family has very strong French Canadian roots.  I have made cards for my favorite aunt in French so that she can send them to our French speaking family members in Canada and Nova Scotia, so I thought a French holiday freebie was in order.

My sincere best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.  Thank you for your support this year - I am preparing to enter my 7th year of blogging in a few days thanks to all of you!

Couple of last minute projects ...

As much as I tell myself that I'm going to be ready for Christmas THIS year ... it never happens.  I'm still knitting like crazy and still making cards and tags.  Here's some of this week's work:

I have one more holiday freebie on Monday so be sure to stop back!

Holiday Freebie - Christmas Round

I just love sentiments that are round!  They punch so easily and they're just plain fun!  Here's one I did for this holiday season.

Tree Trimming Party

Ever since we have had grandchildren, we've been getting a real Christmas tree.  We stopped for a few years after getting kittens and decided that once the grandchilrdren started arriving it was time again.  For the last several years, we have been having them all over to help us trim the tree.  Their parents get a bit of a break to do some shopping and we get help trimming the tree.  This year we had a pizza party first and then trimmed the tree.  A grand time was had by all as you can see from these pix!

When their parents return to pick them up we have a family dinner and unfortunately I did not take any pix of that this year -  next year I'll remember!

The beginning of winter brings such beautiful sunrises.  So glad to be awake and alive and experiencing them.

Little Miss Muffet Challenge

The wonderful folks at Little Miss Muffet Stamps kindly invited me to be a guest designer for this week's challenge on the Little Miss Muffet Challenge blog.  The challenge this week is "It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas" and I used this adorable Holiday Christmas Tree digital stamp for my project.

The background is a retired (unmounted) Stampin' Up! wheel that I just love and I stamped it using Whisper White ink.  The tree was colored using Copic markers with the star and balls also colored with SU Dazzling Details and added some "snow" using liquid applique puffed with a heat gun.  I cut it and the scalloped oval out using Spellbinders dies. I created a digital sentiment to fit in a Spellbinders label die to use for my sentiment.   This was a fun and easy project to make.

Some Stamp Camp Cards

I have some gorgeous card samples from November and December Stamp Camp North to share with you.  There are more, but not all the pix turned out due to cloudy conditions and photographer error!  Might try to photograph them again, we'll see.  But here are some of my faves that did turn out:

I have been blessed to work with so many talented people since I took up this paper crafting hobby!  I appreciate them so much for all the creative goodness they have brought into my life, and these are just the local folks that I interact with every month!  There are so many wonderful people that I have met and gotten to know online as well.  You have all enriched my life in ways that I cannot begin to describe.  Thanks so much to each and every one of you!

Monday Freebie - Happy Hanukkah

On this, the 3rd day of Hanukkah, I thought I would do a sentiment to celebrate that holiday.

I have much to share but no time to take pix.  Hopefully today!  Lots of stunning creations by my fellow crafters.  We had a wonderful stamp camp on Saturday and that will be my last camp until February.  Lots of holiday activities planned with family and the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference in January to prepare for.  Still trying to decide if I'm going to make swaps ...

I'm working on some great scarves and presents for the grandkids and will try to take some pictures of those things too!

We had our Rocky Mountain Inky Fingers Christmas party this weekend and it sure was a lot of fun!  Great swaps (I'll show you those tomorrow) and a wonderful time had by all.  Thanks girls for being such wonderful, creative stamping buddies - you truly are blessings!
