Courtney's Closet and some Flower Cards

I had to make a card for Libby's Courtney's Closet challenge - take a look at this cutie and tell me you're not inspired!

Here's my card:

Image is from Pollycraft and the dp I created myself using a floral image from Bugaboo that I colored with my computer and used to create my own paper! Using the rgb codes for the appropriate SU colors, I got it to pretty closely match the Tempting Turquoise and Gable Green paper that I used. Fun stuff!

Here are a couple of flower cards I made after LeAnne sent me to this website and I spent some time gobbling up her delicious freebies!

The bottom card is another experiment with making my own designer paper. Fun stuff I tell you! This image is from Bugaboo too, colored and laid out on an 8 X 10 grid. The possibilities are endless!

From Courtney's Closet - at last!

I have been away from this challenge for far too long. Allowed myself to get distracted from what's important - shame on me! This is one of my very favorite challenges and I have really missed playing along each week. Going to try to get myself back in the swing of things! Here's darling Courtney all spiffed up and oh so very cute!

Here's my card.

I know she has cherries on her dress, but I couldn't help myself, I'm in Christmas mode and it just reminded me of this fun digi paper from pcCrafters!

Thanks for visiting!

Catching up with Courtney

Libby is celebrating one year of her From Courtney's Closet challenges! Way to go Libby! This is absolutely one of my favorite challenges and I made these two cards for the last two challenges.

From Courtney's Closet - Anniversary Edition #42

From Courtney's Closet - #43

Here are the pictures that inspired me:

My anniversary edition card is made with the very first clear stamp set I ever purchased. Can you believe this is the first time I have inked it up? I've had it forever too! It was very fun and it won't go back on the top shelf again. This card is all PTI except for the sentiment which is one of the under $10 goodies you can get from Stampin' Up!

My card for challenge #43 was made with a digital stamp I got from Sweet & Sassy Stamps called Cleo Clownfish. Ii stamped images from Ocean Commotion with Versamark on the card. The ribbon is from the $1 bin at Mikes and I cannot for the life of me remember where I got the ship's wheels, but they seemed perfect for this card. Card base is Tempting Turquoise and the stripes are Soft Sky that I dug out of my drawer of retired SU papers.

Well I think I did as much as I can do today. I'm going to emerge from my studio and see if DH is down there anywhere. I think I hear the sewing machine so he must still be working on the cover for Belmira's sail.

This week in Courtney's Closet

This week I'm getting my card done EARLY! Every week time gets away from me and I get my card to Libby late. This week I did the challenge on the day it was issued! Here's our darling Courtney in this week's inspirational outfit - don't you love it?

Here's my card inspired by her outfit. I don't have any doggy stamps, but I thought the butterfly was nice too. The flowers are printed dingbats that I was playing with in an effort to make some of my own "designer paper" - we'll see how that goes and I'll keep you posted. The red is much richer looking IRL, it's PTI's Pure Poppy and it's wonderful but my camera skills still leave a bit to be desired!

Thanks for visiting.

This week in Courtney's Closet

Here's our little cutie patootie Courtney modeling this week's spectacular outfit. Isn't she just adorable!

Here's the card I made inspired by her sweet outfit:

I didn't have the right colors in my dp stash, so I took a piece of black and white in a pattern that I wanted and scanned it in on the computer. I opened the file in my graphics editing software and changed up the colors to match the RGB codes for Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip and like magic I had some dp from my printer to work with!
I wish I could get this printer to feed the heavier cardstock, but it just wouldn't cooperate today so I settled for plain copy paper and the colors are not as intense as I'd prefer. I might try switching up the colors tomorrow and playing with this again. We'll see.

Courtney's Closet #35

I'm probably too late with this, but I really didn't want to miss this week's challenge from Courtney's Closet! I combined it with this week's sketch challenge on Splitcoast.

Recipe:
Stamps: Oval All
Paper: Pretty in Pink, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Certainly Celery, SU dp
Ink: Certainly Celery
Accessories: punches, brads, embossing folder

Thanks for hanging in there with me this week! I've been a bit scattered. Hopefully tomorrow's visit with the cardiologist will go well and my knee surgery will be back on track!

What's Courtney up to this week?

Our adorable Ms. Courtney is sporting a very colorful outfit this week:

Here's what her outfit inspired me to make:

Recipe:
Stamps: unknown "Smile", SU "Hello", Hero Arts "Friendship"
Paper: Whisper White, Pixie Pink, Lovely Lilac, Gable Green, Real Red, Summer Sun
Ink: black
Acessories: brads, ribbon, punches

On a more serious note, Libby's mom is having some serious health issues and prayers and good thoughts sent her direction would be a very good thing. If you get a minute, just keep her in your hearts and prayers. Go on over and visit Libby and leave her some love and let her know you care.

Thanks so much for visiting!
