Front Range Stampers Slideshow

These are the cards from the swap at this month's Front Range Stamper's meeting.  I'm missing one of the make and takes and will try to show that to you later this week.  I had hoped to be able to share them as a slideshow, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do that with the new web Picassa interface.  It used to be sooooooo simple and now they've "fixed" and "improved" it and it doesn't work at all!  If anyone can point me to instructions on how to do this I would greatly appreciate it!  This new blogger interface is driving me nuts and now they've managed to screw up the Picassa interface as well.  Crap!  Well, here's the individual photos and I apologize for the long post this creates.

I also wanted to share this photo that I took on the Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall in Boulder over the weekend - such gorgeous colors!

Am trying to get ready for May's stamp camps and hope to have some ideas to share soon.  I'm heading to Washington, DC to work in my office there later in May and will take my camera ...!

Stamp Camp North - Slideshow

Anybody else having a mostly "hate" relationship with blogger lately?  I hate messy code and this new version persists in inserting it's interpretation of what I want instead of letting me do it myself.  GRRRRRRR! Hard spaces, font codes, spans and divs all over the frigging place!

Anyway, here's the promised slideshow from last weekend's stamp camp:

Kaboodle Doodles Challenge #115

I'm a day late (again), but here's my card for the latest challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles:

It's much larger than my usual card (it's 5.5" square) and totally outside my comfort zone, but I think we have to make ourselves do that once in a while just to prove that we can!  I've got slideshows from last weekend's Stamp Camp North and also one from last night's Front Range Stampers meeting.  Great stuff so be sure to stop back and check it out.

Stamp Camp North - April 14, 2012

Well, it's time again for another Stamp Camp North.  This camp is so much fun and there are so many talented demonstrators offering up their gorgeous creations for you to make.  If you didn't get an email from me with info and would like some information, please email me and I will get that to you right away.  This is the project that you will be making at my station on Saturday:

There will be color choices as well as sentiment choices, so you can make this card truly your own!

CAS?

I have a couple cards to share today along with a couple more "kid" cards.  First, I'd like some feedback from you about whether or not the flower cards I'm sharing today could be considered CAS in your opinion.  I think there's a difference between CAS cards (clean and simple) and cards with only one layer which some folks think is definitive of CAS cards.  Here's the cards I whipped up last night:

I'm trying to figure out how to describe my style (in general).  I consider these to be CAS cards because while there are multiple layers, there's no ribbon, no buttons, no brads, etc.  They are not embellished in any way except for the image and the designer papers.  What do you all think?  The tulip and poppy images are by Arielle at Wax Fruit Company and the vase image is a freebie from Digital Two for Tuesdays.

Here's the aforementioned "kid" cards (I think they are pretty CAS too except for the brads):

The top image is from Designed 2 Delight and the bottom two images are from Digistamp Boutique.  I combined some elements from two graphics on the little piggy because I wanted him to have something besides mud in his portrait.

Also, while you all have your thinking caps on, which background do you prefer - the black or the white?

Couple more Easter Cards

I want to share a couple more of my Easter cards with you today.  These use some wonderful digi images from Arielle at Wax Fruit Company.  I love coloring her digis!

I also have a couple more "kid" cards to share as well.  The top card is a graphic from A Day for Dasies and the bottom two are some more from The Digstamp Boutique.

I put together a basket of cards - Easter and also some all occasion cards - and took them to my office to sell.  I'll leave the basket till Friday and hopefully I won't have any to take home!  That's doubtful, but ...

I also made some custom request cards for a gal at the office and I'll share those with you tomorrow.

Kaboodle Doodles and Some Easter Cards

Well it's time for another Kaboodle Doodles challenge.  This week we want to see projects that are anything BUT a rectangle.  Here's mine:

I also spent a nice chunk of time in the studio this weekend making Easter cards.  Here's a couple of kid cards:

The sentiments on these were created on my computer and the top 2 I did using a new (to me) tool in PSE that let's you curve your text on a line that you create.  I figured out what type of curve I needed to fit the sentiment into the blank on a nestie label die and to my great pleasure and surprise - it actually worked!  I am working on making up some PDF files of sentiments that fit this set of label dies and if you are interested, leave me a comment and I'll post them in the Digital Freebies section.

I'll be back tomorrow with some more Easter and floral cards to share (I had a wonderful time coloring up some gorgeous images from Arielle at Wax Fruit Company).  I'll leave you with a nature pix that I took of a tree in the parking lot at Hobby Lobby!

Kaboodle Doodles and a Flower to Share

Out front next to that lovely daffodil I shared last week is this beauty:

I love these flowers, not just because they're purple (well mostly because they're purple), but I also think they are gorgeous to look and and lovely to smell.

Here's my card for this week's Kaboodle Doodles challenge which is to use circles and squares.  Stop over and check out the other creations by the dt - they are wonderful.

Busy week this week with the kids home on spring break, but I'll be back later in the week with some more goodies.

Front Range Stampers Swaps

The third Monday of every month is the meeting of the Front Range Stampers.  FRS is a group of wonderful SU demonstrators who get together and share their knowledge and skils.  We have dinner at the iHop before the meeting and share our accumulated swaps and samples from the previous month's stamping activities.  After dinner we head over to a local church where we talk about what's happening and do two make and take projects.  You've seen my swap and make and take project for this month HERE.  Here's a slideshow of all of the other swaps from that meeting:

The Monday Night Stampers will be back at it next Monday night. I am taking the weekend off from formal stamping activities and hope to spend some time outdoors and some time just making things that make me happy - cards, scarves  baby blankets, maybe even a bowl or mug (or two). I'll try and get some pix of the pottery studio to share with you. It's in much better shape than it has been, but still needs some TLC to get it back into production mode. So many things to do, so little time! The plight of most of the creative people I know.

Spring has Sprung and a couple of cards to share too!

Well, the first signs of the arrival of spring have appeared in my garden:

This jewel was the one and only for several days, but now the side garden is just full of gorgeous yellow blooms!  The tulips and hyacinth are not far behind either.  It's cooler here today, but the sun is shining and the horrendous overnight winds have subsided.  There were times last night when I thought it would blow the roof off!

Here's my Kaboodle Doodles challenge card for today:

Our challenge is to show us some cuteness and our sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads.  Be sure to stop by and check out the projects from the design team!

Tonight is the Front Range Stampers meeting and I am doing a make and take project as well as a swap.  Here's the swap:

Here's the make and take project:

Both of these fun projects were created using a kit from the marvelous and oh so talented Jackie Topa.  You can find this kit by clicking HERE and I think you will find that she has created some really, really fun punch projects.  The make and take project was cased from her blog post HERE.
