Here's your Monday freebie (and it's even on the correct day this week):

This past weekend some of the gals from the Front Range Stampers group went on a retreat for the day to a wonderful spot in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.  Our fearless leader Jayne Fuller put it all together for us and we had a wonderful time, crafting, sharing, eating and generally having tons of fun.  Here are a couple of pix from that day:

Cathy Hansen can always be counted on for fun times and lots of laughter:

This is the cozy lodge we used for our day of crafting and sharing:

This is my favorite pix of the day of Ann enjoying a little sun and solitude on the deck of the lodge:

Lots of fun activities coming up and I will be sharing some pix of the projects for those soon.

Thanks for visiting!

I'll be back tomorrow with some more fun cards to share with you.  I'm also making progress on the book shawl and starting on a couple of fun knitted Christmas gifts for my granddaughters that I will share as they progress.

Today is the first anniversary of my dad's passing.  Doesn't seem like it could be that long ago.  Miss you dad!

Safe and Sound

I am back home in Colorado, safe and sound albeit a bit wet.  Taking a bit of a break from blogging till life gets back to some semblance of normal.  Some flooding in the basement, but very little by comparison so I am grateful.

I'll be back soon.  Please be patient with me as I get my life a bit more under control.

Monday Freebie - August 26, 2013

Here's your freebie for today, hope you have some fun with it!

Things have been a bit crazy so I haven't posted much.  Lots going on and lots to share, just no time to write it up and post it.  I'll catch up - promise!  Got a bit beat up on the water this weekend, but learned some things about one of our sails - it doesn't work!  It's very pretty, but dangerous!  We're fine, the boat is fine, the sail is pretty beat up though.

Heading out to the Cape today for some Wellfleet oysters!  It was one of the things I really wanted to do while I was here and since it's going to be rainy and yucky, we figured we do some "land sailing" today.

Red Sox game at Fenway on Saturday and then home on Sunday.

Clam Boil with Lobster!!!!!

Jordan and Chris invited us over for a clam boil today and we brought along some lobsters to add to the pot!  WOW what a feast!  Here's some pix:

And there was desert too!!!!

Our gracious and gorgeous hostess - Shadow!

The food and the company were extraordinary and we came back to Belmira full and happy campers.  Thanks so much to Jordan, Chris and Shadow for the wonderful meal and outstanding company.

Believe it or not, we are going to another clam boil on Tuesday (have I mentioned that I am totally clam crazy?) with another of John's brothers and his family.  I don't think I can ever get enough clams or seafood, but I'm sure going to try and find out!  Last night we had dinner at a great restaurant in Fall River, MA and I had some of the tastiest mussels I think I've ever had and an unbelievably delicious pork and littlenecks!  I've been taking pictures, but I won't bore you with those too!  Tuesday I will get to meet my two grand nieces for the first time (Ella is 2 and Autymn is almost 1) and the camera will be working overtime then for sure!

I've got a fun freebie for you tomorrow so be sure to come back and visit!

Wednesday Night Jam at Westport Harbor Fishing Pier

I thought I would share a few photos with you of the weekly bluegrass jam that DH and his brother participate in:

There was lots of music and merriment and even some dancing!  I posted a pix of some of the children dancing on my FB page and I even took a short video.  I haven't figured out yet how to post that though.  They were so cute!  There was quite a crowd there enjoying the mild summer evening and good music.

I've got some more convention swaps to share with you tomorrow so be sure to stop back and visit.

Thanks for visiting!
