Designed 2 Delight

I've been trying to get a card done in time for this weekly challenge for three weeks and I finally have done it!!!! Challenge closes on Thursday and here it is Sunday and I'm done! Here's my card:

Card base is Daffodil Delight and I used a layer of Daffodil Delight dsp (SU). The accents are all from the freebie kit in the SAB catalog. You still have some time to order and get one for yourself - sale is over on March 31. I used one of my ticket sentiments (you can find those on my Digital Freebies page). Colored this adorable image with my Copics and mounted it on some Pacific Point (SU).

Sentimental Sundays Challenge

Well it's Sunday - time for another challenge on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog. Our sponsor this week is Heart Song Designs and they also have a Sketches With Heart challenge starting today so this card will be for both challenges! I love it when I manage to get two into a single card. I know that there are challenge pros out there that can get 20+ challenges into one card, I'm not one of them. I feel strongly that if I'm going to enter a challenge I'm going to do my best to fit THAT challenge and not try to see how many I can find that the card might fit. To each their own I guess. Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

I just love this cute image from Heart Song Designs which I colored with (what else) my new Copics! I haven't given up on all my other fun coloring methods and I'm contemplating trying out another new one - pastels - so stay tuned for more coloring goodies. Card base is Pretty in Pink (SU) and the image is mounted on a circle of Daffodil Delight (SU). I cut the Lovely Lilac lacy border with a new long Sizzix die that I picked up at Mike's using a 50% off coupon! The sentiment is a ticket stamp from the talented Ann Vento and is stamped on Lovely Lilac and cut with the coordinating die. I added a cute pink clothes pin that I picked up somewhere and a butterfly from Pizzazz Aplenty (love, love, love these butterflies) and added some button brads along the bottom.

Either I'm getting old and senile or March has been crazy!

I got an email question today from a gal who saw my cards on this month's challenge at Christmas Cards All Year. I cannot believe I didn't do a post about this as I was soooooooo very excited and honored to be asked to be one of their March Guest Designers. Here's the post and here's the cards that I made:

The only excuse I have is that the cards were in their own separate folder and I had pneumonia and ... well, I'm just getting old!!! Please stop by and check out all the wonderful Christmas inspiration - it's never to soon to get started on those holiday cards you know!!!

Stamp Camp Cards

I think I mentioned that I have Stamp Camps scheduled the first three weekends in April (what was I thinking!). Here's the cards the gals will be making at my table:

April 2 - Sassy Chic Stampers

April 9 - North Area Stampers

April 16 - Inky Fingers Stampers

I really am looking forward to all three of these events as the gals are always so much fun and I have the really hard part already done! Does anyone else struggle the most with the initial design or is it just me?

Anyone interested in more information about any of these camps, please don't hesitate to send me an email!

Creating with Connie and Mary

I haven't done a sketch challenge in a while and when I saw this on Create with Connie and Mary I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm working on creating some spring "workshop-able" cards as I have stamp camps the first three weekends in April! We'll have to see how that goes. Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Card base is Daffodil Delight, with a dsp from the SAB catalog layered on some Pear Pizzazz. I used a SAB set from last year called Vintage Labels. I used the Boho Blossoms punch to punch out the flower in the center and put the whole shebang together using one of the wonderful glitter brads. The ribbon is Daffodil Delight satin and there's another brad to decorate it. The sentiment is from another SAB set called So Happy for You. There's also some Peach Parfait and Marina Mist used on this card as well.

I took some garden pix this morning and will share those with you later - spring has sprung in my bulb bed!!!!

Too late ....

I made this card last week and when I checked on the challenge, I was too late. I still like the card though!

Digi image is from Designed 2 Delight! Card base is one of my retired purples from SU. Ribbon across the card is from M's and the ribbon tied in the embellie is from my ribbon pieces jar. I used Nesties to cut the lacey scalloped circles and punches to cut the others. Sentiment is from my punchables box (sometime I'll take a picture of that and share it with you).

Also, I have a couple of spring freebies:

ETA - I think that I finally have this fixed. Click on the image to download a zip file containing both png and jpg versions of both words.

More Copic coloring projects

I think I may have mentioned before that I love to color - maybe a few times (too many). Here are a couple of projects that I colored with my new toys:

Images are from DigiStamp Boutique - aren't they adorable!!! Card base on the first card is one of the wonderful retired purples from SU (can't remember which one though) which has been stamped using a stamp from In Full Bloom (retired SU) in Versamark and embossed with white ep. I used Pretty in Pink to back the sentiment. The sentiment is one of a set of six "ewe" digis that I have been working on and if you are interested leave me a comment and maybe I'll put it up as a freebie set.

The card base on the chick card is Pretty in Pink and I used some dsp from BG along with a punched strip using one of my new MS punches threaded with a strip of Pretty in Pink which is also what I used to back the image and sentiment. I punched the corners of the image panel with my fave corner punch (if you need details on that leave me a comment too). The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set from SU. I added a couple of pearls and called it done!

Let me know if you are interested in some "ewe" sentiments and I'll get to work on putting those up.

Spring has Sprung and more playing with Copics

Well the first signs of life in the back yard appeared and I had to take some pix. I also played with these a bit in my graphics program - learning how to apply masks and textures. I have a long way to go with both my photography and with working with the end products, but I sure am having fun!

I am also still having lots of fun coloring - I anticipate that this is something that isn't going to go away anytime soon either. Here's a couple of cards using my all time favorite flower set from SU - In Full Bloom - now sadly retired.

The totally awesome, gorgeous butterflies on that first card come from Judy at Pizzazz Aplenty. If you come to any of my workshops, you will get some "card candy" that has lots of her very, very fun stuff included. If you like to have quality embellies on your cards, you need to pay her a visit!

Heart Song Inspirations challenge #2

There's a new Sketches with Heart challenge up on the Heart Song Inspirations blog. Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

Card base is Tempting Turquoise (SU) with a layer of BG dsp (I can't remember which collection though). Main image is from Heart Song Designs and the sentiment is from Tiffany's Doodles. I used my scallop circle die (SU) to cut the image and then sponged the edges with Tempting Turquoise. The sentiment is layered on Pretty in Pink (SU) and of course, everything is colored with the new Copic markers that I can't seem to step away from! Ribbon is from my stash and the brads are Tempting Turquoise (SU).

Pop on over and check out all the inspirational creations from the cracker-jack design team and maybe even play along!!!

I'm just a kid at heart I guess ...

I love to color. I've always loved to color, I just never had so many cool ways to do it before! I've been playing with my new Copic markers - wow are they fun! Here's one of the cards I made and I need your help desperately on this guy ...
(ETA - He's from Pollycraft and his name is Marcel the Frog! Yay - I found him while I was hunting for some more to print up and color. Whew - thought I might be losing my mind there for a while. )

I cannot find where I got him! I have a directory (200+ gb) called digi that has main folders (about 300 or so) that contain in the neighborhood of 100k files. Many of these are digital scrapbooking files, but a goodly number are digital images and stamps. I know that this guy is in there because I printed him out, but I cannot find him and I need your help identifying him so that I can give proper credit to his creator. I know that I need to do something about organizing all this stuff - hey, it's on my list. If you recognize him, could you drop me a note and let me know? I'd be ever so grateful!

Sentiment is an old SU stamp that I just picked up somewhere loose but I just love it - cause I can color it! Card base is Tangerine Tango (SU) with a layer of BG Lime Rickey. I added a layer of Green Galore (retired SU) under both image and sentiment and added some Pumpkin Pie 1/8" ribbon (SU).

Heart Song Inspirations Challeng

The talented Leah Cornelius and her team have started a new sketch challenge on the Heart Song Inspirations blog. Here's this week's sketch:

Here's my card:

Card base is Real Red (SU) with a layer of Real Red dsp. Tulip is from Heart Song Designs and is printed out then colored with my new Copic markers!! It is layered on some green that I pulled from the scrap pile so I am not certain exactly what it is. Ribbon is from SU and the sentiment is from Oval Snippets by Raindrop Echo Designs for Whimsy Stamps.

Playing with Vintage!

I am always amazed at the number and variety of free digital images out there. Today I'm playing with some vintage images that I got from Cora at Clearly Vintage - if you haven't checked her out you really need to pay a visit!

Here's what I created using some of her gardening digis:

My bff Sabrina was here on Monday night and we had such fun playing with these and just playing generally!!! Thanks Sabrina! My copics finally arrived yesterday and I have been playing. What they say is true unfortunately - once you get a few you HAVE to get more! All those lovely colors!!!!! I am so grateful for the gals at Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium for making these fun tools affordable. I'll be showing you some creations colored with my new toys very soon.

Thanks for visiting!

Downline Swaps and Make & Take Projects

Last Saturday was our monthly downline meeting and I'd like to show you my projects as well as the projects of the other talented gals in my downline group. Here is my swap:

My swap is a total, absolute case of Diana Gibbs card you can see HERE. She made hers a little fancier by cutting out the blossoms and popping them up - too cute!

Here is my make and take project:

This card uses a new set and some new paper that will be available in April from SU as a special preview from the new catalog! How fun is this. There will be more details about this special coming soon from your SU demonstrator.

Here is Pat's make and take project:

The technique used to create the background on this paper is way too much fun and it involves popcorn, a baggie and some ink pads. The girls all had a great time learning this new technique for creating background papers.

Here is a slideshow of all of the swaps:
