Monday Freebie - February 25, 2013

I have lots of birthdays coming up and thought I might get a head start on some fun birthday sentiments.  Here's the first:

I also want to share some fun news with you.  On Saturday, my Monday Freebies were featured HERE on Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Saturday Showcase!  Mind boggling!  Please stop by and check it out and be sure to leave Lisa a little love while you are there.  She is a very talented artist and it was such an honor to be featured in her Saturday Showcase.

Well, the snow arrived and made a mess of things.  Not so much that it's going to give the kids a day off from school though and hopefully enough that it will help out our parched landscape.  I hope that you are all staying safe and warm where ever you are! 0

Saturday's Swaps

We had tons of fun at Saturday's monthly meeting of the Rocky Mountain Inky Fingers group.

Here is my swap:

And here are the swaps from the rest of these talented gals:

I still need to take pictures of the swaps from Monday night's Front Range Stampers meeting and hope to share those with you tomorrow.   My pop up flash arrived yesterday and I got some great pictures of the grandkids and my 4 year old took control of the camera and got some really bizzarro pictures of grandma.  The kid is going to take after his father and be a great photographer!  I think grandma can learn some things from him!

Monday Freebie - February 18, 2013

Today's freebie sentiment is one of my favorites from Mother Teresa:

I hope to have pictures of swaps from Saturday's downline meeting and my swap for tonight's Front Range Stampers meeting later today.  The weekend was pretty crazy, but very fun.  We had a surprise party at our house for Autumn - and she was really surprised!  We spent Sunday recuperating and getting some things done around the house.

Enjoy the sentiment and as always, I'd love to see what you do with it if you use it.  Just drop a link into a comment or shoot me an email (link in the sidebar).

Autumn's Birthday Card

Now that she has it, I can share it:

We took her and our 4 year old grandson out for a sushi lunch.  She got some good pix of him eating his and I'll post those when I get them. (ETA - here he is eating both tuna and salmon - what a guy!)  He is something else our Justice!

After seeing rave reviews on two blogs (Chronicles of a Country Girl and Crazy as a Loom) - gals whose opinion I really trust, I have purchased a Pop Up Bounce Flash for my camera from Photojojo.  I can't wait to have this baby in hand and start playing with it.  Many of my photos are taken indoors and I think this is going to make a huge difference in how I feel about that!

I'll have pix of tomorrow's downline meeting swap and make & take project tomorrow.

Couple of Valentine's Day Cards

I try to make up a few cards to bring to work with me for co-workers that like to give their loved ones hand made cards for holidays like Valentine's Day.  Here's a couple that I brought in today:

Tomorrow is a busy day in my household.  Not only is it Valentine's Day, it is also our wedding anniversary and my daughter-in-law's birthday.  She is turning 30 this year - a BIG one!   She is such a sweet girl and such a joy to have as part of our family.

Happy Birthday tomorrow to Autumn!!!!!

Loving Butterflies!

I can't seem to help myself when it comes to butterfly stamps.  The set that this particular butterfly comes from also has a coordinating punch - who could ask for anything more!  It's called Papillon Potpourri from Stampin' Up!

I embossed the butterflies using black craft ink and clear embossing powder on Groovy Guava cardstock.  I used an old CB embossing folder to add some texture on a piece of Cherry Cobbler and some very pretty dsp from the Basic Grey Lucille collection mounted on a strip of Basic Black.  The sentiment is from Blooming With Kindness (also from SU).

The Monday Night Stampers were over last night and were also busy, busy, busy.  They made up some of the kits leftover from Saturday's North Area Stamp Camp and collaborated on this card and another that I can't show just yet as it hasn't reached it's destination.  I'm hoping to get some more time in the craft cave tonight (after we finish watching Sunday's Downton episode that is).  This weekend brings a meeting of my downline and next Monday night is the Front Range Stampers meeting, so there will be lots of fun things happening in the cave for the next few days.

Stamp Camp North Project

This Saturday is Stamp Camp North at the Westminster Elks Club in Westminster, Colorado.  If anyone is in the neighborhood and would like details, just click here for more information.   Here is the project the gals will be making at my table:

This card is a Stampin' Up! only project.  I am so ready for spring to arrive!  I thought I would use some bright colors for my project.  This one features Pool Party, Island Indigo and Calypso Coral along with the new Sycamore Street dsp featured in this years Sale-a-Bration offerings.  The butterflies are from Papillon Potpourri and were punched with the new Bitty Butterfly punch from the Spring Mini Catalog.  The Calypso Coral ribbon is also from this years Sale-a-Bration catalog.  The sentiment is from a set called Amazing Family in the Spring Mini Catalog and it has a great selection of words to finish this phrase off:  Friend, Mother, Brother, Father and Sister as well as a very pretty flourish.  The Island Indigo panel is punched using the Scallop Edge Border punch and was put through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  The Calpyso Coral panel was punched with the 1" circle punch and put through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots folder.

I am hoping to get more time in the craft cave this week and I'll be sure to share what I'm up to with you!

Just playing around ....

Jerry Jones of Shadowhouse Creations is a fantastic resource for all things photographic.  He creates actions and overlays and so much more to be used to enhance your photographs.  On this photo:

I used his latest creation - Scratch & Frame Box Overlay Set to create this:

I am a total novice with a camera, but having fun tools to play with makes me feel like I can actually get creative with my photos!  You should stop by Jerry's blog and take a look at all the wonderful things he does.
