Time for a Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Sentimental Sundays “Celebrate Summer” blog hop. Tuesday, June 21st, is the official first day of summer in the northern hemisphere and we are all ready for the summer fun to begin. For our friends down under who are moving into their winter months and may not feel like creating a summery project, they may be making “Sparkly or Shimmery” projects. What girl doesn’t like her bling?

You should have arrived here from Lou at Lou's Love of Paper. If you didn't arrive from her blog and would like to join in the hop, please start at the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog.

When I think of summer, I think of bright colors and flowers. Here's my project for this week's challenge and I think it fits the bill just fine:

We hope you will join in our “Summery or Sparkly” (plus a sentiment) challenge this week. Our sponsor is the marvelous Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. This prize will be four INDIVIDUAL sentiment sets from the Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection.

Your next stop on the hop is Antoinette of nettiegillie-crafts. If you should happen to get lost along the way, you can find the blog hop list over at the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog. Don't forget to leave comments along the way because there are 3 mystery DT members who will each choose a winner from the comments left on their blog hop posts. The winners will each win a $10 gift certificate to Whimsy Stamps! The hop ends on Friday, June 24th at midnight EST. The winners will be announced on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog on Sunday, June 26th. So, hop on over to the next stop and good luck!

Thanks for visiting!

Sentimental Sundays - Inspired by Song!

Well it's Sunday and I am actually posting my Sentimental Sundays card! This week the design team is being "Inspired by Song" and WOW have they been inspired. Be sure to stop by the blog and check out all the marvelous creations made by the design team. We have a lot of new team members and they are showing off their talents - and believe me, they are VERY talented. Here's my card:

As you all know, dh is off "sailing" - well not quite yet but he will be soon! I keep hearing the Christopher Cross song in my head and on my car radio and it always makes me think of him! Repairs are progressing and you can follow his progress on the Sailing Belmira blog. She should hit the water sometime around the 15th!!!

Lots of fun stuff coming up tomorrow - Kaboodle Doodles and Heart Song Designs both have new challenges that I am certain you will find fun, fun, fun!

Thanks for visiting!

Sentimental Sunday and Kaboodle Doodles

In an attempt to get a little caught up, I am combining these two challenge posts. The first card, is not a card but a bookmark! The challenge this week on Sentimental Sundays is Anything BUT a Card. Please be sure to stop by and check out the marvelous creations of the design team and meet all our new design team members while you are there!!!

The butterfly image is from a new (to me) digital company called Digi Design House. They have some wonderful images and I am having fun coloring them up. You'll be seeing much more from them here in the future. I colored the image with Copics and then covered it with Glossy Accents. It's mounted on a lacey scallop oval nestie in Lavender Lace (SU) and that is mounted on an oval of Cameo Coral (SU). I attached a white satin ribbon and stamped the sentiment using a little dollar alphabet set I got at Mikes.

This is my entry for this week's Kaboodle Doodles challenge which is to Show us Your Colors! I made this card in honor of Memorial Day which is the day every year when Americans remember all those who have served and continue to serve in our Armed Forces.

This image is from this week's sponsor on Kaboodle Doodles - The Paper Shelter. It is colored with a combination of digital coloring and Copics and is mounted on some scraps of blue and white. The card base is Cherry Cobbler (SU) and the sentiment is one I generated on my computer.

Well the sun is out (no telling how long it will last) and I am going to try to get a bunch of pictures taken while it does!

Thanks for visiting!

Sentimental Sunday - in more ways than one!

Well it's time for another challenge on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog. This week we are challenging you to make some flowers! Here's my card:

I saw these flowers on the Spellbinders blog and just had to give them a try. I think they came out pretty nice!

I also want to announce the winner from last week's Anniversary celebration blog hop at Sentimental Sundays: #15 is Curt!

Curt if you read this, send an email to: sentimentalsundays@raindropecho.com and let Ann know that you are the winner from my blog and she will get your prize to you!

It's also a bit sentimental because dh is heading east tomorrow for the summer! The family is coming today for a bbq to send him off on his journey. I'll be joining him in July this year instead of August though so it won't be quite so long till I see him again. You can follow his journeys on his sailing blog: Sailing Belmira. He should be at the boat by next weekend and hopes to have her in the water in a couple weeks.

A Sentimental Mother's Day

I want to wish all my friends who are mothers a very, very Happy Mother's Day!

It's also Sunday so that means a new challenge on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog and there's lots happening over there! It's our 1 year anniversary and Ann has some wonderful ways of saying thank you to all who have been so supportive and made our blog such a success. We also have a design team call out so be sure to stop over and check out all the great news at Sentimental Sundays! Here's my card for this week's challenge - Anything Goes!

Don't you just love this cute snail from Heart Song Designs?

I'm thinking it's going to be a nice quiet day here at the old homestead. Stamp camp yesterday was a blast and a big thank you to all the gals who came and got creative with us! DH is busy getting all his ducks in a row for his scheduled departure on the 15th. I'm going to putter ... one of my favorite things to do!

Hope you all have a wonderful day today!

Be that your mom, grandma, niece, sister - whoever. Here's my card:

Deedee's Digis is our sponsor this week and this is one of her images. Deedee is closing her store on May 14, so if you want to get some images you better get over there and get shopping! There are incredible deals to be had so be sure to check it out.

I've also been coloring up a storm. Here's a card I made for this week's Tiddly Inks challenge:

Sentimental Sundays Challenge #52

Today's challenge on Sentimental Sundays is to use at least three punched elements on your project. Given my total love of anything punchy - this was not hard at all for me. Our co-sponsor this week is the delightful Leah Cornelius of Heart Song Designs and I have used one of her images on my card:

I also made a second card using this image:

The background on both cards was stamped using the Pretty Petals background stamp from SU. My challenge cards uses Lovely Lilac and the second card is stamped with Daffodil Delight. Those are also the colors of the coordinating card stock used on both cards. The image panels were cut using nesties and the images were colored with Copic markers. The pearls on the second card are from Pizzazz Aplenty (thanks Judy for having such great embellies!) and the sentiment was embossed with some Melon Mambo embossing powder which will be available on May 1 from SU.

Help for Japan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to a very special blog hop today! You may have been on the first hop that Whimsy put on for this special cause. Well, there were so many who volunteered to join in that we had to do a second one! The illustrators of Whimsy Stamps have come together to draw a special set of digi images for the purpose of raising money for the relief effort in Japan. All proceeds from the sale of these images will be donated to that cause. Kenny K, Raindrop Echo Designs, Meljens Designs, and Crissy Armstrong all contributed art work.

For the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice) by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site. Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.

If you have landed here from Kristina's blog, you are right on track. If you have come here randomly and would like to start hopping from the beginning, please go to Ann's blog. She has the blog rotation order posted if you need to refer to it.

The amazing ladies of two design teams have come together to host this blog hop for you! The team from Sentimental Sundays and the Kenny K Krafty Girlz have joined forces to design some amazing jaw dropping creations for you. You have seven days to hop through all the blogs and enjoy all the lovely creations from these talented people.

The hop runs from now through til Sunday April 17 at noon. There will be several opportunities to win blog candy! Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set. So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi! Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize! The grand prize will consist of the entire digital set made just for this cause as well as a gift certificate donated by Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs worth $10 to use at the Whimsy Stamps store! To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from the top of this post) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Ann's post so we can be sure to find the winner.

Now on to my project:
I have used the Kimono Bear and one of Ann's wonderful sentiments in my project today. Remember, for the whole month of April you can get the entire set of images that we have all used in our projects by going here. You will get a total of 8 sentiments and 3 wonderful images all for onlly $9.

Next you'll want to visit Ann's blog to continue hopping. Thank you so much for your support of this very worthy cause.

Thanks for visiting!

Sentimental Sundays

This week on Sentimental Sundays we are remembering Treasured Moments. Our sponsor this week is the marvelous Melissa Jenkins of Meljen's Designs.

Here's my card:

Some of my most treasured moments have been shared with dh aboard Belmira. I am really looking forward to making more memories this summer too!!!!! I really have to get a light box as the colors on this are so much nicer than they are showing up on this picture. Maybe I'll try to get a better pic this afternoon in the sunlight. Image is from Meljen's Designs and the sentiment is from Ann Vento. The little wheels have gems in the center and they are not showing up at all. I'll be back this afternoon with a blog hop post! The gals at Sentimental Sundays are participating in a blog hop to benefit the earthquake victims in Japan so be sure to stop back later and check that out.

Sentimental Sundays Challenge

Well it's Sunday - time for another challenge on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog. Our sponsor this week is Heart Song Designs and they also have a Sketches With Heart challenge starting today so this card will be for both challenges! I love it when I manage to get two into a single card. I know that there are challenge pros out there that can get 20+ challenges into one card, I'm not one of them. I feel strongly that if I'm going to enter a challenge I'm going to do my best to fit THAT challenge and not try to see how many I can find that the card might fit. To each their own I guess. Here's the sketch:

Here's my card:

I just love this cute image from Heart Song Designs which I colored with (what else) my new Copics! I haven't given up on all my other fun coloring methods and I'm contemplating trying out another new one - pastels - so stay tuned for more coloring goodies. Card base is Pretty in Pink (SU) and the image is mounted on a circle of Daffodil Delight (SU). I cut the Lovely Lilac lacy border with a new long Sizzix die that I picked up at Mike's using a 50% off coupon! The sentiment is a ticket stamp from the talented Ann Vento and is stamped on Lovely Lilac and cut with the coordinating die. I added a cute pink clothes pin that I picked up somewhere and a butterfly from Pizzazz Aplenty (love, love, love these butterflies) and added some button brads along the bottom.

It's a Sentimental Sunday

I've missed a couple weeks and it was good to have a project ready for this week's Sentimental Sunday challenge. This week we are sponsored by Deedee's Digis and Raindrop Echo Designs. The challenge is to use pearls and lace on your projects.

Here's my card:
I used Sabrina's Copics to color this card - fun, fun, fun!!! The card base and base pieces are Soft Suede and I used some BG dp and some fun lace from WM with some SU 1/4" Real Red ribbon threaded through.

My BFF Sabrina and I attended a Painted Petals class at Archiver's this afternoon and I'll share the cards I made there later this week. It was lots of fun - it's always a good time when we take classes together. Thanks Sabrina!

Be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sunday's blog as Ann has another wonderful freebie but it will only be available for one week. Check out all the great design team projects and maybe you'll be inspired to join in our challenge this week!

Sentimental Sundays Challenge #42

This week the challenge on the Sentimental Sundays blog is to use pink, red and white - perfect time of year for these colors! Our sponsors for this week's challenge are Meljen's Designs and Raindrop Echo Designs - both are outstanding digital designers and these prizes are worth competing for!!! Here's my card:

This is the card that I gave to DH for V-day and for our Anniversary. Card base and trim pieces are Regal Rose (SU) and I used some Real Red dp (SU) for the background. I colored the image with markers and also in my graphics program and punched the corner with my fave corner punch. Sentiment is from Raindrop Echo Designs and I added a glittery red heart (SU). The punched strip is my latest addition to my MS punch collection and when I first saw it I pictured it with ribbon threaded through, so that's what I did. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink (SU) and I added some pearls (SU) for good measure. It was a fun card to make and I am also entering it into the following challenges:

Cupcake Challenge #129 - I love You!

and

Crazy 4 Challenges C4C74 - hearts!

WOW - I never do multiple challenges - scary! Be back later with my v-day cards for the little darlings in my life!
