The Adventure Begins!

We are on our way to Florida to put Belmira into the water and hit the high seas heading for the Bahamas!  We will probably be at the marina until the beginning of February getting all of the new gear installed and getting all the provisions on board that we will need.  I will have internet access at least until then so I will be visiting blogs and checking email, etc.  I hope to be able to put up a few posts along the way with some pictures of our adventures.

Thanks!

Thank you to everyone for the consolation messages about Harold.  We are in the throes of preparations for both Christmas and for our trip south.  I will be posting about our holiday celebrations and as I can on the ongoing saga of our sailing adventures so stay tuned.

There won't be much crafting stuff happening here for a bit, but I hope you can hang in there till we return and get back to our normal schedule.

RIP My Sweet Boy!

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our darling Harold.  He has been a part of our family since 1998, but he just got too tired and too sick to go on anymore.  He had a good life and I will cherish my memories of him forever.

He was an excellent companion for the last 17 years and he will be missed!  We love you Harry!

Paper Pumpkin and Other News

Have you checked out the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail from Stampin' Up! yet?  While it took a bit to get this program off the ground, it surely has now hit the ground running and the monthly kits are simply fantastic.  Here's a video about November's kit:

I have not received mine yet and now I will be out there waiting for the mailman!  Isn't it just too cute and perfect timing for those last minute Christmas cards?  To get yours, go to my SU website and sign up now.

I have a craft sale coming up this weekend and have been feverishly making some fun stuff to sell.  If you are in Colorado and want to check us out, here is some more information:

I have so much stuff sitting on my desk waiting to be photographed!  Hopefully I can share some of these marvelous projects with you in the coming weeks.  Sassy Chic and Stamp Camp North are both coming up at the beginning of December.  I still haven't finalized my projects for these events, but look for pix of those as well as more information about these two fun camps.

Such a Busy Time of Year!

Things are certainly hopping in the old craft cave of late.  This has resulted in not so much posting on the blog and I apologize.  Things are happening on the home front - new driveway is almost a reality!  We have had some cold weather and some snow, but we are hanging in and waiting for the end of December when we will head to the boat for our latest adventure!  More posts about that to come.

In the meantime, SU has published it's retiring list from the Holiday mini and there are some sad things on it!  I am sorry to lose both the Woodlands embossing folder and the Wonderland stamp set, both are my favorites from this mini catalog. Click HERE to go to my SU website and see all the items that will be retired.  These items will be on a first come, first served basis and when they are gone - the are GONE, so check it out if you want to get these products.

We had a great time at Stamp Camp North and I will get some pix taken of the cards and post them this week.

I have a craft sale coming up on Nov. 21, 2015:
This promises to be a great event and if you are in the neighborhood you should stop by and say hello (and maybe buy a few things for your gift giving this holiday season).

Hopefully, things will start to wind down for me as we approach "D-day" (departure day) right after Christmas.  I will keep you posted on our progress.

We will be serving soup, salad and desert and have lots and lots of door prizes (all nicely wrapped in festive holiday paper).  Here is the flyer for this camp:

Long Time, No See!

It has been a long time since I posted and I was reminded of that by my darling 9 year old granddaughter recently.  She told me "Grandma, I visited your blog and you have not posted for a really, really long time." When this kind of thing happens, you sit up and take notice!

I have been so very, very busy in October and November and December isn't look all that good either!  I have tons of stuff to share and will try to get some things posted.

Here is what the worktable looks like currently:

Here are some cards that I am working on for our Craft Sale at the Rose Hill Grange (I will post a flyer for this as well as more details of my projects in the next few days).

In October I had:
3 stamp camps
1 senior class
1 dinner meeting with stamping friends (1 make & take project)
1 downline meeting (2 make & take projects)

In November I have:
2 stamp camps
1 craft sale
1 dinner meeting with stamping friends  (1 make & take project)

In December:  we will talk about this later!

We had the kiddos here for Halloween and had so much fun and I will post some pix from this as well as our trip to the pumpkin patch and also preview the card we will be making at the Sassy Chic Stamp Camp this Saturday.  It is our annual holiday celebration and this is an event that everyone looks forward to every year.

I relish being this busy, but I know I have sorely neglected my blog as a result.  We are still on schedule for heading to the boat for a 3-4 month sail in the Keys and Bahamas and will update that too in the following few weeks.  I know that I still need to report on the whole trip from MA to FL, but I am still getting through the photos and trying to digest the awesomeness (is that a word) of the voyage.  It was a mind blowing experience and deserves a whole post of it's own on the "Uncertain Sailor" section of this blog.

I will post some pix of swaps and projects in progress over the next few weeks.  Taking photos of everything has been challenging, but I think I am getting a handle on it.

Thanks for visiting and thanks for being patient with me as I navigate through this busy time of the year!

Cruising Towards Christmas

I am teaching a class on October 12, 2015 at the Longmont Senior Center called Coasting Towards Christmas.  Here is the information on the class:

Here are some samples of what we may be making:

Everyone will make three cards, one ornament and three tags of their choice from the materials available.  There will also be kits for the cards and ornaments available for anyone who wishes to make more than one of a project.  I am also doing kits by mail for the cards and ornaments in this class, so if you are interested, please leave me a comment or send me an email (link in the sidebar) and we can make arrangements.  There will also be three tags included in these kits.

I will also be having a Christmas Card class at the Scrapbook Shack in Louisville, CO in October, but I do not have a details available for that class yet.  Stay tuned ....

Cousins Convention!

We had a chance to take all the cousins out to dinner last night at Cinzetti's.  A grand time was had by all and no one went home hungry!

There was much ice cream, bread pudding and crepes consumed along with pizza, calamari (a favorite of all of them) and pasta.  I hope they weren't too hard to put to bed last night.  I love spending time with these guys - they are the BEST!

I will have more details and some pictures of the projects for next month's Coasting Towards Christmas class at the Longmont Senior Center so watch for that post later today.

Also - it is not too late to register for this weekend's Stamp Camp North - it promises to be a fun filled, creative day so try to join us:

Christmas is coming - helpful items to assist in being prepared!

The new Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up! goes live on September 1, 2015.  I have been having so much fun playing with some of the products from this catalog!  Here are a couple more sneak peeks at what is in store for you in just a few days!

These cards were made with a new stamp set/coordinating die set.  I love, love. love being able to stamp and cut (not a good fussy cutter) and this set is perfect to satisfy my love of all things snowman!  There is also tons of other cute stamps and dies in this combo.

Stamp Camp North - September 19, 2015

September's Stamp Camp North will be held on September 19, 2015 at the Westminster Elks Lodge in Westminster, Colorado.  I love this camp and the gals (both campers and demonstrators) who participate.  We always have an enjoyable day creating together.  Here is the card for September's camp at my table:
Here is some more information on this fun camp:
If you want more information on this camp, please leave me a comment below or send me an email (link in the sidebar).

Here are the products that I used to create this card:
Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

The background on this card was created by inking the clear block with Crumb Cake ink - fun!  The gals will have various sentiments to choose from when making this card, but this particular sentiment is from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love those kits and the stamps contained in them.  If you want more information about how you can subscribe to Paper Pumpikn, just click on the image below.
You have a chance to save 50% if you subscribe before September 10, 2015!  These kits just keep getting better and better so now would be the perfect time to subscribe.
