Yes ... even more tags!

I am just loving using up stash and breaking out old (and often never inked) stamps!  Here's a couple more sets of tags:

The top set uses the winter tree from A Tree for All Seasons.  A cute set with stamps fit for every season.  I also dug into my washi tape stash for the little splash of color at the bottom.  The second set uses a stamp from the Seasonal Birdhouses set (circa 2000).  Both sets of stamps are from Stampin' Up!  I used some rub on greetings on the second set - how handy are those things!  You can't see it in the photos (need to work on that) but both sets are very sparkly!  I used SU's Dazzling Details to highlight the snow flakes and the snow on the birdhouses.  Fun, fun, fun!

I have been coloring watercolor paper with various inks, sprays and paint and ink daubers.  Oh my have I been having fun!  I use the papers created to cut out feathers with the dies from the SU set Four Feathers.  Hope to have some cards to share with you from that project in the next few days!

We are kicking back and recuperating from our Thanksgiving feast - 18 of us!  We had a wonderful time, but DH and I were totally wiped out by the time it was all over.

Christmas Card Pack Door Prizes

As I mentioned yesterday, I am participating in two stamp camps in December.  I have been making tags and cards that I will package up as prizes and put into the door prize drawing.  Here are some of the cards that will be included:

There will be six cards in each pack with envelopes.  I'm working on a few more designs and may make up a couple of variety packs as well.  I also plan to have several packs of cards and tags available to sell at the camps.  Should be a fun time for everyone and if you would like more information about either of these camps, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Tags, Tags and Even More Tags!

I have been having so much fun the last few weeks making gift tags for Christmas.  I am participating in two stamp camps at the beginning of December and plan to use packages of these tags along with packages of Christmas cards (I'll show you those tomorrow) as door prizes for the gals attending the camps.

Here's some of the tags I've been making:

I have been digging out old stamp sets and new stamp sets and old paper and new paper and old ribbon and new ribbon and having myself a grand time in the old craft cave.  I have a shameful amount of all of these items and am so happy to be putting some of it to good use!  Leave me a comment please and tell me your sure fire ways of diminishing your stashes.  I would love to hear from you.

I have been in a tag making frenzy the last few days and have a bunch to show you this week.  Lots of fun stuff and I have actually been using up stash!  Too bad tags are so small that it isn't really putting much of a dent in it, but stamp sets that either have never seen ink or haven't seen ink in years are being pulled out and inked up!  Great fun.

Flaky Friends

I am a total nut for snowmen!  Flaky Friends is a long retired Stampin' Up! set (first came out in 2002) that I will probably never part with.  Such cute stamps and sentiments!  I made a couple of cards and, of course, a couple of tags too!

DH is up on the roof today cleaning out the gutters and getting them ready to hang our Christmas lights. We figured he better take advantage of the warmer weather we have been having the last couple of days since it will probably get cold and snowy very soon.  We have a tradition of having the grandchildren turn on the lights and blow up Mannie the Moose (our blow up decoration on the front porch) as soon as it gets dark on Thanksgiving Day.  Good times!

Front Range Stampers Meeting

Last night was our monthly Front Range Stampers Meeting.  We meet for dinner at a local iHop and then move to a local church for our meeting, swapping and creating.  These gals are an absolutely fabulous group - such awesome creativity - I learn something new at every meeting.  I will have photos of our swaps to share with you later this week.

This is the card that I made for our swap:

I used the Northern Flurry textured embossing folder on the white panel and stamped the Joyful Tidings sentiment inside.  The designer paper panel on the front is from the Trim the Tree dsp pad.  The trees were made using the new Tree Punch, punching one from Gold Glimmer paper and stamping one on Gold Foil paper with the floral tree from the Festival of Trees stamp set.  I have been experimenting with combining embossing powders to get different effects and this was done with a combination of Gold and Dazzling Diamonds.  You can't see it on this picture, but it is very shiny and sparkly!  The Joy sentiment on the front panel is a framelit included in the Wonderful Wreath Framelits set and I cut it from the Gold Foil paper as well.

Cutting those fine line sentiments using a framelits die was made so much easier by using a techinique I learned watching a video from Karen Burniston about how to get all the little pieces to come out of your dies once you have cut your paper.

I found this video to be extremely helpful and hope you do too.

I am really trying to get back on a posting schedule and if I can keep up with the picture taking part of things, I think it's going to work out just fine.
