Monday Freebie - April 29, 2013

Here's a freebie for you this bright, spring Monday morning!  I am starting to experiment with drawing using my Bamboo tablet.  This digi is a combination of things, including some freehand drawing.  Yikes!

Spring (should I say summer - 80 degrees today) has arrived at last.  DH  set up the swamp cooler for the season and came in to town to take me to lunch.  He was gone about 5 hours and when he came home he discovered that the d*&am thing had sprung a leak.  Needless to say, there was a visit by the disaster recovery folks and the house is now full of fans from the basement to the 2nd floor.  Luckily it was just one bedroom, the dining room below the bedroom and my pottery studio in the basement.  Carpet has been torn out, holes cut in the drywall, wet insulation removed from the attic (nasty job that was - I'm still itchy).  The light fixture in the dining room had become quite the water fountain by the time he got home and continued to gush well into the night.  The hardwood floors have taken a beating, but we think that given time they will be fine and maybe just need a bit of refinishing.  The craft cave only suffered a bit of damage to the floor in the doorway.  Nothing else got damaged in here.  The disaster recovery folks will be back tomorrow along with the insurance adjuster.  DH will outline his recovery plan (it's bound to be quite different from the recovery guys who told us on Thursday that they thought we would have to take out ceilings, walls and floors in both rooms).  DH doesn't agree and with his extensive facilities management experience, I tend to go along with what he thinks.  We'll see.

Needless to say, the trip east to the boat for him has been postponed slightly.  We will still be heading to PA for my father's memorial service on Thursday, but we'll both be coming back here instead of just me.  Can't say I'm sad that he'll be around a little longer, but I sure do wish it was for a different reason!  The house is a mess right now and crafting has taken a bit of a back seat for a little while.

Enjoy the digi and if you use it, please let me know so I can come visit.

Day 2 of the Return of Winter!

Here's a couple shots of what's happening today.  The first is the same shot as yesterday and the second is out the front windows of the office (btw - there is usually some gorgeous mountains in the background out the front windows).

I want spring to come - NOW!  This is getting really, really old.  It was 21 degrees out when we woke up this morning and it isn't supposed to get any warmer than about 35 today.  I thought global warming was supposed to make things warmer?  What's up with that anyway?

Hope to have some pix of the Sassy Chic cards and my swap and make and take project for this Friday's downline meeting tomorrow.  I hope there won't be any more snow pictures until next winter.

Someone ... Anyone ... Please tell Winter it's time to go!

After a wonderfully warm and mostly sunny weekend, this is currently the view out my office window:

I'm in the basement (where all good geeks belong) and it is so disheartening to look out the window and see M.O.R.E ... S.N.O.W!!!!!

Still waiting for spring ...

DH took these photos yesterday of the front of the house and the porch:

Even though it was sunny (finally) yesterday, it was still really cold and windy.  Today looks to be a bit better and maybe I'll finally stop shivering!

Preparations are underway for DH's departure on May 2.  It will be hard to say goodbye, but I'll see him in August and we both have iPads now so hopefully we can use Facetime to be able to see each other.

Monday Freebie - April 15, 2013

In 17 days DH will be heading east for his annual adventure living aboard our sailboat Belmira. He will be gone until late September or early October!  I am going to miss him so I thought I'd make up some sentiments that I can use on some cards to let him know that I miss him!

If you have a sailor in your life, this might be a good one for you!  I'd love to see if you use this freebie so leave me a comment or send me an email and let me know so I can come visit!

Front Range Stampers 3d Swap

Tomorrow night is the monthly meeting of the Front Range Stampers.  This month's theme is 3d!  I saw this on gorgeous scissor charm on the Inking Idaho blog and knew immediately that I wanted to raid my jewelry making supplies and make some of these for my swap.

I sure hope the girls like them!  I'll be back Tuesday with some pix of the other swaps from our meeting.

Saturday's Sassy Chic Stamp Camp was a real blast.  I came home totally exhausted and was so thankful for my fantastic friend Linda's willingness to be the driver and to help with everything!  Thanks Linda!  I'm not 100% yet, but very well on the way and it was nice to get to see all the great gals that attend this camp.  My card was well received and I think I got a chance to teach them something new!

Sassy Chic Stamp Camp - April 6, 2013

I am slowly but surely getting back into the swing of things and am going to attempt to demo at this week's Sassy Chic Stamp Camp in Longmont, Colorado.  It has been a long gap for me creativity wise and I struggled a bit to get back into the swing of things.  Here is the project the gals will be making at my table:

What do you all think?  Acceptable?  I thought it would be fun to teach the gals how to make these fun paper bows that I found on Connie Collin's blog HERE.  The card was inspired by THIS fun card by Darlene Adams that I found on Pinterest.

Thanks for visiting today and I hope that Spring is arriving where you are and your world is full of color and warmth!

Monday Freebie - April 1, 2013

I continue to get better.  Stent comes out today and that should be the end of this crazy adventure.  I'm feeling better, still prone to dizziness and not as strong as I want to be, but so much better than before!  Thanks so much for all your kind and encouraging words.  I appreciate it more than I can tell you.

On to today's freebie!  It's April and hopefully spring is very near.  We had a great Easter with the grandkids and I'll have a few pix to share soon.  Without further ado, here's a spring digi for you:

Enjoy and please send me a link if you use this.  I had an inquiry about my Angel Policy so I thought I'd make things clear.  You can use these in any way you want.  Attribution is always appreciated, but not required.  You may use these on projects that you sell, but I would ask that you not sell just printed versions of the sentiment.  Thanks!
