Sassy Chic Stamp Camp - January, 2017

Saturday, January 7 was the Sassy Chic Stamp camp.  I took the pictures of the projects, but didn't get them edited until Thursday.  Here are the cards from the camp:

This was January's prepay gift:
I hope to have the cards from January's Stamp Camp North to share in the next few days too.  Both of these camps highlighted some gorgeous and really fun cards.

Thanks for visiting!

Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #82

I saw the Stamp Ink Paper challenge to use natural elements and immediately thought of the wonderful paper pad that's been knocking about my desk for a long time from Elizabeth Craft called Through the Lens Wood.  It has some great images and I thought it would be fun to make a valentine with non-traditional colors:

The card base is a retired in-color called Baked Brown Sugar.  I love this soft shade of brown and it complimented the dsp rather well I thought.  I put the wood grain paper on a layer of black and stamped the sentiment (from Sealed with Love) directly on the dsp.  I added a fun heart from the Sunshine Wishes die set and added a die cut arrow from the Love Notes framelit set.  A couple of gold glimmer hearts and it was done.  I think this will be for DH this year.

Stamp Camp North - January 14, 2017

Stamp Camp North is this Saturday and my prediction is - tons of fun!  Here is the card the gals will be making at my table:

This card is kind of a hybrid of a couple of cards I made using the wonderful Beautiful You set in the new Occasions catalog.  The background was created using the flowers from the Touches of Texture set, the images are from Beautiful you and that lovely gold foil lace is from the So Detailed thinlit dies.  The stylish lady was colored using the fantastic new watercolor pencils and then blended using an aqua-painter.

Here is the flyer with all the details on how you can get in on the fun:
If you are in the front range area of Colorado, this is an event you really should check out.  We have lots of fun and everyone gets to go home with a belly full of great food, 10 gorgeous cards and maybe a door prize too!

Paper Players Challenge #326

I don't play in challenges very often anymore, but I have had this little image sitting on my desk since before Christmas.  DH received a nice treat basket for Christmas from my sister and this was part of the packaging on a box of smoked almonds.  I couldn't resist the gorgeous rich colors and cut it out and it sat there waiting for me to find a use for it.  This challenge is to use recycled items so it was perfect.  The old olive panel was just sitting on my desk as well so I just pulled out some Daffodil Delight cardstock and some retired Hello Honey stitched satin ribbon along with a sentiment I had punched out for yesterday's Hey, Chick card.

I'll be back tomorrow with my card for this weekend's Stamp Camp North along with all the details on how you can join in.  I will soon have pix of the fun projects from the Sassy Chic Stamp Camp yesterday too.

Still Playing WIth My New Toys

I am still having a blast playing with all the new fun things I got from the new Celebrations and Sale-a-Bration catalogs!  So many wonderful items and I anticipate being busy with them for quite a while.

This one uses the gorgeous new Beautiful You set with a background I created using the Touches of Texture set.  I am loving browns these days (maybe because it is so white outside right now).  You can't see it in this photo, but I brushed some clear Wink of Stella on the centers of the flowers and it is very sparkly.  I stamped the flower outline in Whisper White and the solid flower in Soft Suede.  The ovals are from the Stitched Shapes die set and the Layering Ovals die set.  I colored her dress and hat by pulling the Soft Suede ink from the stamped outline with an aqua-painter (a very fun technique).

This card uses some of the Falling in Love designer paper from the Occasions catalog and features one of the dragonfly shapes from the Detailed Dragonfly dies cut in gold and another die in the So Detailed dies cut in Crumb Cake.  I stamped the sentiment and the flowers from the Best  Birds stamp set and cut it out with a Stitched Shapes die (I absolutely LOVE those dies!)
I have been surfing Pinterest and am finding so many fun cards that inspire me.  I am so happy to be retired and able to spend time in the craft cave creating my own takes on some of these gorgeous and fun cards.

I'll be back soon with details on the upcoming Stamp Camp North stamp camp with a picture of my card and all the details on how you can join in the fun.  Hopefully, I will also be able to share with you all the fun cards from tomorrow's Sassy Chic Stamp Camp!

Happy New Year!

Well it is the start of a new year.  I have to say that I am totally happy to say goodbye to 2016 as it was a year full of things I'd rather not even think about.  I can only go into 2017 with the hope that, in spite of my fears, it will be a better year.

I have a ton of events coming up and I will be posting a full calendar of January events in the next few days.  In the meantime, I have been playing with all of the fun new stuff in the Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs!  Here's a couple:
This card uses the gorgeous new set called Beautiful You and features the new colored pencils too!
I had a lot of fun with this card!  The "dsp" panel was made using a window sheet, Dapper Denim and Mint Macaron ink pads, a mister and some shimmery card stock. It is very shiny and sparkly irl.  I then stamped some of the images from Awesomely Artistic on it and dabbed gold Wink of Stella on it and also on the embossed brick wall.  I brayered Mint Macaron on the embossing folder and then sponged the edges and some of the brick as well.  The dragonfly flight is from the new stamp and die combo called Dragonfly Dreams and it is so gorgeous.

I will have a couple more cards to share with you using the fun new projects.  These products will be available for purchase on January 4 so get your wish lists ready!

It's His Birthday Today!!!

Today is my "baby's" 41st birthday!  Here we are in our much younger days:

A huge thank you to my friend Diane for recently sending me this memory!  I think he was about 2 in this picture and we won't even talk about how old I was - suffice it to say - much younger than I am now!

We are hip deep in holiday spirit, but way behind in our actual preparation.  Nothing new there and we will somehow get it all done.  I hope to be back here later in the week with some new class announcements and maybe some card shares from December's stamp camps.

Today the Denver Broncos play the New England Patriots - my favorite team will be sure to win!
