August Recap - it's been a very busy month!

I will start out by saying that the Captain sold the boat and is back from Massachusetts! Once home though, we did end up buying another boat, this time just a wooden day sailor. He is trying it out this afternoon, so stay tuned!

I made a ton of cards this month. Here are just a few:
Crazy Card Chics - August 2023

Sassy Stampers - August 2023

Demonstrator Swap

Demonstrator Make & Take

And a few more, just for fun!

In case you couldn't tell, I really fell in love with the new Inked Botanicals designer series paper from the new SU Annual Catalog. It pairs so well with Lost Lagoon and the combo of Calypso Coral and Petal Pink.

I will make a concerted effort to share in a more timely fashion for the September cards, but ... no promises. I tend to get caught up in the making and don't spend enough time sharing.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Crazy Card Chics - July 2023

Well due to plumbing issues, there was no Stamp Camp North in July and we are taking the month of August off, so no cards for that camp for 2 months.

Crazy Card Chics did our virtual kits though! Here was mine:

I used a graphic I purchased from Etsy and a sentiment from Technique Junkies and created this card.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Sassy Stampers - Christmas in July 2023

Sassy Stampers has it's annual Christmas in July camp next month. There are not many options for Christmas cards available right now, so I improvised! Here is the card the campers will make at my table:
The card base and first layer use Shaded Spruce. The embossed layer is Cherry Cobbler and it is embossed using one of the trio of embossing folders available in Online Exclusives. There is a layer of Gold Foil and a layer of Basic White that is stamped with Shaded Spruce ink using various sentiments and the leaf cluster from Layering Leaves. The layered panels were cut using the Nested Essentials dies and some Brushed Metallic dots were added as embellishment. I used some Metallic Edge Ribbon between the bottom layer and the top two layers.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Crazy Card Chics - June 2023

Well we had our super fun live event last month and now we are back to card kits by mail until September. Here is my card that the campers got in their kits this month:
I used up some very old designer series paper called Something Borrowed. I don't know which catalog it came from, but it is lovely! The card base is the retired Sahara Sand and I got to use my computer skills for the sentiments, front graphic and inside graphic. The front panel was cut using the Split Card Textures dies and the sentiment was cut using the Stylish Shapes dies. The dsp was adhered to the back of the die cut panel and then mounted on the card front. The sentiment was attached to the card front using dimensionals. This is a super easy card for the campers to put together and all that will be required is an inside sentiment that expresses whatever they chose for the outside. I embellished using Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

New Catalog Swap - May - April 2023-2024

Each time we have a new catalog issued, Cathy Hansen organizes a catalog swap. Participation in these swaps is great fun and you get to see some of the new products in use by some very talented demonstrators. Here is my card for this swap:

It is a gatefold card that uses papers from the Fresh as a Daisy pack. The card base is Crushed Curry with an embossed panel of Garden Green embossed using the Basket Weave embossing folder. The panels were created using the Countryside Corners dies with the main panel strategically cut so that the folds did not get cut. The dsp panel was cut in half and mounted on the two side panels. The sentiment is from the new Layering Leaves stamp set and the inside sentiment is from the Framed Florets stamp set. The outside circles were cut using the Stylish Shapes dies and then decorated using the Brushed Brass Butterflies. Very fun card to make!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Stamp Camp North - June 10, 2023

This month's camp was once again a really fun one. I really enjoyed spending time with the campers and with my fellow demonstrators. It's a great group! Here is the card the campers made at my table:
I used up some Wonderful World designer series paper from last year. The individual flowers were punched from one of the sheets and the leafy background is from that same pack. The campers sponged some Mossy Meadow ink on the ovals to make them pop a bit from the background. They were punched using the retired large oval punch. The card base is Mossy Meadow as is the large banner under the sentiment. I die cut the computer generated sentiments using the smaller banner die in the Stylish Shapes die set.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Sassy Stampers - June 2023

Well here it is the 16th of June and I haven't posted yet - shame on me! I have tons of stuff to share though, so here we go.

Sassy Stampers Stamp Camp was on June 3 and we had so much fun. Here is the card the campers made at my table:
I am really loving the Countryside Inn designer series paper.  I used it for the card I posted here and couldn't resist using some of the other patterns in the pack. The card base is Boho Blue, one of the new 2023-2025 group of in-color papers. I also used the new Nested Essentials dies and am really loving them. There is Night of Navy and Misty Moonlight card stock here too. The sentiment is from Irresistible Blooms and the campers had a choice of different sentiments to use.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Crazy Card Chics - May 20, 2023

Well we had our very first in person camp since the pandemic on Saturday. We held camp at the 4H Building at the Adams County Fairgrounds and it was just wonderful! Everyone had a great time and the facility was marvelous. We hope to be back there in September! Here is the card the gals made at my table:
I got to use some of the new designer series paper called Countryside Inn. The card base is a white 100# card stock and there are layers using Night of Navy. Overall, the day was a complete success!

Here is some information on the June card kits to go:

A Father's Day Card

I have no father living, but I have a son and stepsons who are father's and step-father's, so I made some Father's Day cards:

The top one was created using some very excellent instructions from my friend Diane Martel Lapointe in Canada. I saw a card she posted on Facebook and she kindly sent me the dimensions so that I could try it too! Thanks so much Diane! The other two are just me using up some retired paper and some very old dsp along  with some of my new toys - Nested Essentials dies from the new Stampin' Up! catalog and the Cane Weave 3D embossing folder. Some of the paper is also retired i.e. Soft Suede and Cinnamon Cider. The dsp is from some old 6x6 paper packs from Basic Grey. I also used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card stock. I created the sentiment on my computer.
I made some masculine birthday cards as well that I will share later this week.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Stamp Camp North - May 13, 2023

It's time to prepare for May's Stamp Camp North! Here is the card the campers will be making at my table:

I wanted to use some of the gorgeous designer series paper available in the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog which goes live on May 2. This designer series paper is part of the new Fresh As a Daisy suite of products. I rarely buy a Suite of products and instead just purchase the elements I want, but this suite just spoke to me! The papers are gorgeous, the Adhesive Backed Solid Gems match the papers beautifully and I got to use some paper in the new color called Bubble Bath, a delightful pink! I added a layer of Berry Burst (a returning color) on the card front.  The white layer is embossed using another of the trio of 3D Embossing Folders available in the Online Exclusives store. The dsp is mounted on Berry Burst paper. The sentiment is stamped on a Basic White piece using Berry Burst ink and mounted on another piece of Berry Burst card stock. I added some punched flowers that were stamped with Berry Burst and Bubble Bath using the flowers and punch from the Petal Park bundle. The campers will have options for other sentiments. I added some Glossy Dots for some bling on the center of the punched flowers and the card is done.

Here is some more information on this wonderful event:
Be sure to get signed up so you can join us in all the fun!

Sassy Stampers - May 6, 2023

It's time for our semi-annual crafter's garage sale! We combine our camp with a sale twice a year and May is the occasion for our combined camp and sale. I will not be selling this time as I have a big craft sale/camp coming up on the 20th for Crazy Card Chics. The theme this month is cards for men and this is the card the campers will make at my table:
The campers will have a choice of sentiments for both the outside and the inside. I used a retiring punch on this one, but SU has a new set of dies coming out in the new catalog (which goes live on May 2) called Nested Essentials that will cut 3 different nested shapes and one of them is the shape I used for this card. I can't order it and get it in time for camp, but I am really looking forward to getting it! The card base is a returning color called Lost Lagoon. The embossed layer (embossed using one of the 3D embossing folder trio from the Online Exclusives) is Pretty Peacock. I don't have a lot of paper from the new catalog, so I decided to make my own! I stamped the leaf clusters and the dots from the Irresistible Blooms stamp set in Pretty Peacock in a random pattern and mounted it on a Lost Lagoon rectangle which is popped up on the front using dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped on a punched piece and then the Pretty Peacock layer is hand trimmed to fit under it. The sentiment piece is also popped up using dimensionals. I added a couple of gems from a Glossy Dots Assortment pack.

My Brave Tulips

When we bought our home some 39 years ago, there was no deck in the back just a concrete slab. DH built a new two level deck and inadvertently covered up the tulip that was growing there. The tulip had it's own ideas though and continues to come up and give us gorgeous blooms every year. Here is a picture of it this year:
It's coming up from under the deck! I planted tulips in one of the side gardens and they bloomed beautifully the first year and have not had very many blooms in the years since planted. Plenty of greenery, but not too many blooms. This one comes up every year and has wonderful blooms and greenery. I just hope we don't get any more snow!

Thanks for visiting and I hope you are all staying healthy and safe!

Crazy Card Chics - April 2023

This is the card the campers made with my card packet:
The card base is Gorgeous Grape and the embossed layer is Highland Heather. I embossed it with one of the online exclusive Basic 3D Embossing Folders. The iris is computer generated and cut out using the Nesting Ovals die set and the Gorgeous Grape layer was also created with that same set. The sentiment is computer generated and was cut with Stylish Shapes dies as was the Gorgeous Grape layer. Campers had a choice of several different sentiments. I also added some Basic Rhinestone Jewels to give it a bit of bling!

On May 20, 2023 Crazy Card Chics will be hosting a live in-person camp at the Good Luck 4H Building at the Adams County Fairgrounds located at 9755 Henderson Road, Brighton, Colorado. Here is the flyer with more details about the camp and also the information about sale we are having:
We are all looking forward to this event and I just know that it will be a lot of fun. We have some great cards planned to make and some really special door prizes to give away!  Make sure to get registered early!
