New Die!

I received a die this week that had been out of stock and was finally back! It's from Creative Expressions and it's called Poinsettia Edger. Here are a couple of the cards I made with it so far:

I used Night of Navy for the card base and scalloped circle, Basic White for the sentiment and die cut and Balmy Blue embossed with and old snowflake folder from SU. I embellished with some Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

These were fun cards to create and I made a set of 4 to sell at the upcoming Craft Sale at Sassy Stampers. Hope to see you there! I am packaging them in packs of 4 and putting them in acetate boxes. Don't know what the price on them will be yet, I'll figure it out.

Sassy Stampers - November 2022

The get together for the Sassy Stampers stamp camp is coming up on November 5. It will be our regular stamp camp but will also include a craft fair where you can purchase lots of fun things to enhance your holiday decorating and brighten your gift giving load. Here is the card that the campers will be making at my table:

I absolutely love the papers in the Lights Aglow dsp pack that's available in the July-December Mini Catalog. It's absolutely gorgeous and can be used with many different color combinations. I used one of the papers for my focal point and used a stitched circle die cut with a sentiment from Celebrate with Tags. These snowflakes were cut out using the Frosted Flurry Dies. I think that I will probably end up using the snowflakes from the Chic Dies instead. They are a bit more detailed. I also used the dsp on the card front and used some of the Gold Shimmer Ribbon too.

It is snowing for the first time this season! Not heavy and it probably won't stick around long, but ...

I saw this card ...

... on Facebook and had to give in to the inspiration! Here's my card:

I love the Aspen Trees Dies, so many possibilities. I cut the die using Mossy Meadow card stock and layered it over paper from the New Horizons (retired) collection that was available last spring/summer. I cut the leaves out of Basic White and used my blending brushes to apply the color. I also applied color to the die cut label. Added a twine bow and called it done! The inside says "Fall is proof that change is Beautiful" along with an autumn branch. I love that sentiment!

Delivered some sample cards to the Longmont Senior Center today for display at their open house. It is a great facility and after dropping the cards off, the Captain and I treated ourselves to lunch!

My CASE card - wow do I need to get caught up!

I recently visited the blog of a wonderful stamper named Wanda. If you get a chance go check our her blog. I CASEd her card posted on October 22nd. It was a wonderful card and here is my version:

I had lots of fun making this card. The dsp is from the Rustic Harvest pack and I used a sentiment from Charming Sentiments and added a die cut from the Chic Dies. I did decreasing width panels with the dsp. I kind of like how they look.

I have been really busy the last few months. With the Captain gone for 3½ months, I was kind of at loose ends. I did all my camps and classes and didn't miss a single one until he got home and tested positive for Covid the day after he got home. I tested positive a week later and ended up missing October's Sassy Stampers camp and Stamp Camp North. I am doing much better now and he (of course) is doing great. I will be back on here and catch you up on some of the cards I have made since my last post. Really, I will!

Sassy Stampers - July 2022 - Christmas in July!

Yesterday was Sassy Stampers stamp camp - Christmas in July! Here's the card the campers made at my table:

This was a fun and easy card to make. The card base is Evening Evergreen with a layer of Real Red and then a piece of dsp from the Painted Christmas dsp pack. I cut one of the dies from the Holly Berry Dies in Real Red and added a sentiment in Basic White die cut from the same die set with a sentiment stamped in Evening Evergreen from the Leaves of Holly stamp set. Fun, fun, fun! The campers all seemed to enjoy making the card and a grand time was had by all.

Crazy Card Chics - June 2022

It's that time again - time for another card kit camp with the gals from Crazy 
Card Chics. Here is my card:

This was a fun card to make. The card base is Granny Apple Green with a layer to Daffodil Delight. Layered on that is a piece of dsp from the Awash in Beauty pack of papers. The dsp is embossed using the Pretty Flowers embossing folder. The background layer on the sentiment is punched using the new Lasting Label punch. The sentiment is computer generated and the campers will have a choice of Happy Birthday, Get Well Soon, Thinking of You and Thank You. The inside is computer generated and just has a bunch of flowers on it with room to put your own thoughts. I hope the campers like it!

Stamp Camp North - June 2022

Well Stamp Camp North has come and gone and I haven't shared my card yet. So, here it is:

This is a direct case from a card I found on the internet here. I have a bunch of this retired dsp (Expressions in Ink) and also a ton of the Just Jade cardstock that has also been retired. I decided it was time to use some of it up! I fell in love with her design and decided to use this card as my card for the campers to create. The "hello" sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set and the campers could put anything they wanted on the inside. This card layout could be altered to fit any kind of cardstock or dsp.

New Catalog Card Swap

With the arrival of the new Annual Catalog from Stampin' Up! there is (naturally) a card swap organized by our own Cathy Hansen. Here is my entry for this fun swap:

I was influenced by a card I saw on the web (by Bobbie Erb Matthews) and made just a few modifications. The card base and embossed layer (Pretty Flowers) are Basic White. The paper is Hues of Happiness designer series paper and the sentiment is from Lovely You. I layered the dsp pieces on Basic Black as well as the sentiment and added some Matte Black dots. The flower and leaf are die cut from the Hues of Happiness dsp.

Sassy Stampers - June 4, 2022

It's coming around again, the Sassy Stampers stamp camp in Longmont, Colorado. This month is our crafters garage sale with lots and lots of retired merchandise and craft supplies for sale. Here is what the ladies will be making at my table this month:

I am totally in love with the new Hues of Happiness dsp and the Happiness Abounds stamp set! The card is a gatefold card and the card base is Gorgeous Grape. The dsp panels are from the Hues of Happiness dsp and the circles were cut using the Layering Circles dies. The stamps are from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and the gems are from the Glossy Dots Assortment. I hope the campers love this as much as I do! Here are the details about this camp:

Crazy Card Chics - May 2022

The stamp is from Unity and is called Every Day Be Happy. Fun stamp! I used Basic Black, Basic White and Poppy Parade card stock and Pattern Party dsp. Sentiment layers were cut using Layering Squares dies. Fun and easy card! Here's the information on this camp:

Stamp Camp North - May 2022

Stamp Camp North in May will be an awesome camp. First, we have our semi-annual craft sale starting at 9:00 (believe me you don't want to miss this) and then camp will follow at 10:00. Here is the card the campers will make at my table:

I absolutely love the dsp in the Waves of Inspiration pack. Although not carrying over to the new annual catalog, I managed to snag some packs and hope to use them over the next few months to create some great cards! This card has a Pacific Point card base with a layer of white emossed with the Painted Texture embossing folder. There is a strip of the Waves of Inspiration dsp topped by a die cut from the Scalloped Contours dies stamped using stamps from the Waves of Inspiration stamp set in Pacific Point ink. I wrapped some thread and added some gems from the suite  and called it done! The inside is stamped using Balmy Blue in and uses the wave stamp from Waves of Inspiration and a sentiment.

Sassy Stampers - May 2022

Here is the card the campers will be making at my table:

I am in love with the Oceanfront set and was so happy to see that it is carrying over to the new annual catalog. I used Basic White and Coastal Cabana for my card stock colors and stamped in Coastal Cabana (sky), Bermuda Bay (water) and Crumb Cake (sand). The sentiment and grasses are stamped in Mossy Meadow. Campers will have a choice of Happy Birthday or Happy Father's Day for the inside. The birds are die cut in Basic Black and are from the Waves of Inspiration dies. I will also have this card I made to illustrate how versatile the stamp set is:

Card stock colors are the same but I used a mask and blending brushes to add the color (Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Crumb Cake) and then stamped the grasses and sentiment in Mossy Meadow. The birds are from the Let's Set Sail stamp set and are stamped in Basic Gray. This is such a fun set and presents so many possibilities! Here is the information about this fun camp:

Waves of Inspiration

SU  recently introduced a new collection of products. There is a great package of paper that unfortunately will retire on May 2. I made these cards using some of that lovely dsp:

These are called joy fold cards and I am loving this technique. The bottom one features a die from this suite of products that I am in love with! Luckily, the die and the stamp set will carry over to the new Annual Catalog and I am thrilled. Colors used are Pacific Point, Granny Apple Green and I also used the DSP and the aqua-colored foil that is also being retired. The top card uses the Label Me Lovely punch and the bottom card uses the retired Pretty Label punch. I used some of the sold out gems from this suite on the top card as well. This is a gorgeous set of products and I wish more of them had carried over. Oh well, I have a stash!

Crazy Card Chicks - April 2022

Here is my card for this month's Crazy Card Chicks virtual stamp camp:

I used a piece of Basic Black for the card base with a layer of Gorgeous Grape topped with a stamped piece of Simply Marbelous dsp. The stamp is called In the Meadow from Technique Junkies. Every month I look forward to seeing the month's offering from TJ - always a fun experience. The sentiment was computer generated and die cut with a die from the Stitched Rectangles set. The inside was also layered on a piece of Gorgeous Grape and was computer generated as well. We are looking for a place to hold in-person camp but haven't found an affordable option just yet.

Stamp Camp North - April 2022

It's time for our monthly Stamp Camp North gathering of creative stampers! Here are the card choices for the campers who will visit my table:

The card utilizes that gorgeous paper pack I used in my last post - Expressions in Ink. I just love this paper pack! The card base is white with layers of the dsp along with a layer of Basic Black. The sentiment is computer generated and cut using a die from the Stitched Rectangles dies. While the beautiful dsp will be retiring, at least the dies will hang around for another year! I also added some Champagne Rhinestones for just a little more bling! The inspiration for this card came from Jennifer Cotton (The Stamp Therapist). She is a wonderful stamper from Texas, USA and I would encourage you to visit her blog and get inspired!
