Last night was our monthly Front Range Stampers Meeting. We meet for dinner at a local iHop and then move to a local church for our meeting, swapping and creating. These gals are an absolutely fabulous group - such awesome creativity - I learn something new at every meeting. I will have photos of our swaps to share with you later this week.
This is the card that I made for our swap:
I used the Northern Flurry textured embossing folder on the white panel and stamped the Joyful Tidings sentiment inside. The designer paper panel on the front is from the Trim the Tree dsp pad. The trees were made using the new Tree Punch, punching one from Gold Glimmer paper and stamping one on Gold Foil paper with the floral tree from the Festival of Trees stamp set. I have been experimenting with combining embossing powders to get different effects and this was done with a combination of Gold and Dazzling Diamonds. You can't see it on this picture, but it is very shiny and sparkly! The Joy sentiment on the front panel is a framelit included in the Wonderful Wreath Framelits set and I cut it from the Gold Foil paper as well.
Cutting those fine line sentiments using a framelits die was made so much easier by using a techinique I learned watching a video from Karen Burniston about how to get all the little pieces to come out of your dies once you have cut your paper.
I found this video to be extremely helpful and hope you do too.
I am really trying to get back on a posting schedule and if I can keep up with the picture taking part of things, I think it's going to work out just fine.
If you have any questions about the techniques or materials used in the work displayed on this blog, feel free to use the email link on the left and I will gladly answer your questions.
