Freebie Friday - 7/28/17

I have a satellite radio in my car.  I love it!  Recently they added a Beatles channel and it is so wonderful to head out on errands and be able to hear this wonderful music.  I have been a Beatles fan since they first appeared on the scene back in the 60's (I know, I am aging myself here).  This sentiment came from one of the songs that has been stuck in my head for the last few days.  Enjoy!

I don't have a sample card for you this week as I have been busily preparing for this:
If you live in the area, I promise this will be a worthwhile event.  Personally I will have over 200 stamp sets for sale at great prices (some even come with framelits and/or punches).  I hope to also have some retired cardstock, designer paper and some hand crafted scrap sacks!  Stop in and say hello and pick up a few bargains while you're there!

Tranquil Tulips

I recently came across these cards and decided it was time to break out the Tranquil Tulips stamp set and have some fun!

I am loving this stamp set!  Here are the materials used on this card:
I also used some retired washi tap and a touch of black enamel accents.  I have ended up with so much washi tape and have decided to make a point of using it.  Once again the issue of too much stuff comes into play.  I am hoping to clean some things out on July 29:
There will be lots of retired SU product at this sale, so if you are in the area and looking for a bargain, please stop by!

Freebie Friday - 7/21/17

I wanted to create a friendship sentiment and here's what I came up with:

The card base is Real Red and I stamped the little row of daisies from Daisy Delight to the bottom of the sentiment.  I cut out the sentiment with one of the square dies from the Stitched Shapes framelit dies.  Put a couple of pieces of dsp from Pick a Pattern and layered it on some black cardstock.  Simple, easy and hopefully well received by the recipient!

Still playing with Marbled!

I can't stop playing with the Marbled background stamp and the new technique I learned from Lee Ann Greff!  Here are a couple more cards:

This is just such a fun and easy technique.  It is interesting to combine colors and see what the end result is!  Top card uses Lemon Lime Twist and Pacific Point and the bottom card uses Sweet Sugarplum and Elegant Eggplant.  Fun, fun, fun ...

I have been having issues with my blog and hope that soon I can get things resolved.  Photobucket wants $39.99 to host my graphics (all 5 of them) and so I have been on a search to find another hosting service.  Any suggestions?

Longmont Senior Center Class - July 17, 2017

Here are the other two cards that we will be making at my Longmont Senior Center class on Monday, July 17, 2017:

The top card uses my Freebie Friday sentiment from last week.  The bottom card is one I was playing with to use as my new catalog swap this month.  I decided not to use it for the swap, but thought it would be perfect for the Senior Center class.

Here are the supplies used to create these cards:

I'm in love with Marbled!

I posted a card HERE for the PP352 challenge this week.  I used a technique I learned from a pdf file I purchased from LeeAnn Greff HERE.  I loved the Marbled background stamp from the first time I saw it in the catalog, but this technique makes it even better.  Pay LeeAnn a visit and check it out - it's wonderful!  I made a couple other cards using this background and will be featuring one of them in my Longmont Senior Center class on Monday, July 17.  Here is the card the gals will be making:

The inks used were Lemon Lime Twist and Pacific Point with a smattering of Basic Black  When you combine the LLT with PP you end up with a color that is very close to one of our new in-colors - Tranquil Tide!  Don't you just love it when things like that happen?  I know I do!

I added a couple of green enamel accents I picked up with a Halloween set from the clearance rack and a black diecut from Happy Birthday thinlits.  Easy peasy and so fun to make.

Freebie Friday - 7/14/17

It's time for another Freebie Friday digital sentiment.  Here's the sample I made using today's freebie:

Here are the files:

For the sample card, I used Rich Razzleberry for the card base, Crushed Curry for the first layer and a piece of Color Theory dsp.  I stamped the daisy twice with Rich Razzleberry and put some NUVO drops on the Crushed Curry center.  I used Berry Burst for the layer under the sentiment.

Fun with Brick

I saw this card and it's accompanying video last week and felt compelled to give it a try.  I made one card pretty much just like hers:

and then tried one on my own:
I think I am going to like this technique!  I did some sponging on my version and added leaves cut from dsp using a die from the Eclectic Layers thinlits.  The sentiment on both cards is from the Label Me Pretty stamp set.

Here's what I used on this card:
