More Sneaky Peeks and a Wish for a Happy New Year!

Although I have shown these stamps already, the cards are new.  This is a set of cards using the Petal Potpourri stamp/punch set and the Something Lacy background stamp.  I am totally enamored of the background stamp - so gorgeous and, of course, when there is a stamp and punch combination I can't resist!

There are 8 cards in this set with 4 different sentiments.  The sentiments are from a classic retired set called Sincere Salutations.  I have this set in English and French and I doubt that I will ever get rid of it.  It's just too useful!  The card base is Baked Brown Sugar and it is stamped with it too!  The flowers were colored using my Copic markers.  I think I am going to try some water color and sparkle on these flowers very soon!

I also made a couple of thank you cards using the same combination of stamps but changing the color to Smoky Slate.  Sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I would also like to extend my wishes to everyone for a warm, safe, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Thank you so much to all of you for hanging in there with me for the past 7 years (yes it really has been that long)!  December 29 was my 7 year "blogoversary" and it has been a real pleasure sharing with you and getting to know some of you well even though we have never met.  See you soon!

Did you all survive?

I hope that you all had a wonderful and safe Christmas.  Mine was crazy wonderful!  Lots of fun with all the grandchildren.  I took tons of pictures but haven't had time to go through them yet.  Our son took this picture of our grandson Julian with his present from grandpa and I and I absolutely love it:

He is able to capture the spirit of his children in his photos and I so appreciate it that he shares these wonderful photos with us!  If you click on the "family" label in the sidebar you can see more examples of his photographic skills.

Don't know what the week will hold.  Grand kids are out of school and will be spending some time with us.  It started snowing yesterday and it is still coming down.  Not huge amounts of accumulation, but cold, cold, cold.  Hoping it gets better over the weekend as I have a date with my granddaughter at Build-a-Bear!

Sneak Peek Note Card Set

I am still on a roll with the note card sets (with boxes of course).  Here is a set I created using one of the new Sale-a-Bration sets that you can get for free with a $50 order after January 6:

The colors used here are Perfect Plum, Calypso Coral, Marina Mist and Hello Honey.  The stamp set is called Lotus Blossom and the sentiments are also from that set.

We have lots of busy activities planned with children, grandchildren and extended family over the next few days.  I'm busy working on last minute gift making and having a lot of fun.  I hope to be able to share some pix with you very soon of some of the items I have been making.

Just a Few More Tags

In tidying up the craft cave I found my stash of Whipper Snapper stamps and just had to make a few more:

These were all colored with Copic markers - oooooh what fun!  Hope everyone is having a busy and productive weekend - we are trying to get it all done by Thursday - along with the rest of the population!  Every year I vow to be more prepared, and every year it waits till almost the last minute to get done.  Oh well - I'm having a good time anyway!

More Note Cards

I seem to get on a roll lately with one project that I make lots of (the tags for example).  Right now I'm making note card sets with accompanying hand made boxes.  Here's the latest:

I have so many lovely stamps that have not seen ink in a long time (if ever in some cases) and total tons of designer paper.  This seems to me to be a really good way of getting some use out of all this stuff that fills the craft cave.  The stamp used on this set of cards is a gorgeous floral from Holly Berry House (a Colorado company).  For the card bases I used Island Indigo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and I even dipped into my rapidly disappearing stash of Orchid Opulence too!  I stamped the image in Basic Black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The image was then colored using my Copic markers.  I thought about doing these as 4x4 note cards, but discovered that I do not have any envelopes that would fit.  (I know, I could always make some, but ...)  I am on the hunt now for a source so that I can make these in the future.

These note card sets will more than likely end up as Christmas gifts or as door prize gifts for stamp camps or workshops.  Hopefully, they will be well received.

More Sneaky Peeks!

I'm having a blast playing with my new toys from Stampin' Up!  Here are a couple more projects I made using some of the new designer paper stack called Adventure Bound:

This designer series paper is a real departure from the norm for Stampin' Up!  One side is a photo image and the other side is standard patterned paper.  I also used a new stamp set called Petal Potpourri and the coordinating Flower Medallion punch.  I can't resist a good flower set and when there is a coordinating punch I'm in 7th heaven.

These new products and so much more will be available for purchase on January 6, 2015.

Note Card Gift Sets

Tis' the season for gift giving and I made up 4 sets of these note cards to give this Christmas.  There are two of each color in each box with envelopes.

The stamp is an old one from Penny Black that I colored with distress markers and spritzed with water before stamping.  I love the water color look and this flower is just perfect for it.

I also made boxes for the cards.  I found some great box making videos by Connie Stewart here and she also has a great one on how to make the tool she uses to get lids that fit every time here.  If you struggle with making boxes Connie's video tutorials are definitely worth checking out.  Here's the cards all boxed up and ready to go:

I am thinking about making some little 3x4 note cards and boxing them up too so stay tuned to see how those turn out.  I'll have another Sneak Peek for you on Friday too so be sure to stop back.

Today is also my wonderful son's 39th birthday!  Happy Birthday sweetie!

Sneaky Peeks - New Occasions Mini and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs from Stampin' Up!

The clock is counting down towards the release of the new catalogs from Stampin' Up! Customers will be able to order from these catalogs on January 6 - only 20 days from now!

The Occasions Mini and Sale-a-Bration catalogs are some of the most anticipated of the year from SU.  This year they have outdone themselves.  I am in love with everything in them!  I made some samples from the sets that I received.  The first one is a new background stamp called Something Lacy and I see many cards using this in my future:

Both were stamped on white card stock using Baked Brown Sugar ink.  I colored in some of the design on the top one using my markers.  The sentiment is stamped with Basic Black craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  So easy and, I think, very elegant too!

I will be back with more sneak peeks at the new items over the next few days.  I hope you like them as much as I do!

Stamp Camp North - Dec. 13, 2015

As I mentioned before, I really love doing stamp camps.  Stamp Camp North is a wonderful group of gals - demonstrators and campers alike.  We had so much fun at our latest camp - it was our Christmas celebration and we even had an appearance by Santa!  Here are the projects (you can see mine here):

All the gals got to go home with one of these cute gift card holders:

and everyone got a door prize (including the demonstrators - YAY).  Those who got the door prizes made by Bernadette got to go home with some of these cuties:

We had a great time with great food, great projects and great company.  I am looking forward to participating in this camp in the coming year!
